Now that I'm officially out of the lurkerdome, and now found out that I'm very welcome here by all you wonderful ladies - I figured I'd have a real intro!
As I'm sure you know, my name is Renee. My little girls name is Paris Renee, and my DH name is Kyle. I got pregnant at 17, and had my daughter by 18. I got pregnant our senior year of high school, and DH was 17 when I got pregnant and turned 18 a week before we had our daughter. Our pregnancy was not planned, and came as a complete shock to the both of us, as I was on birth control when we conceived. DH (we weren't married at the time) received 3 scholarships to 3 different schools around the time we found out we were expecting, and I was just accepted to Mercyhurst. So, as what just seemed as our lives were just pulling into swing, we were shocked finding our we were pregnant! We wanted to keep our baby, but we didn't know what the future would hold (as any teen mother). We were nervous what would happen with college, his scholarships, and our careers. But, we knew we couldn't give our baby up, as the news of the pregnancy brought not only nervousness, but happiness.
We waited 6 weeks until telling both of our parents we were pregnant, we wanted to handle this very maturely, as adults and future parents, and have as much planning as we could before telling our parents. Kyle was raised very religious, and was waiting until marriage to have sex - but temptation gave in, and well...we all know the end of that! His parents had no idea we were sexually active, and we were very nervous to tell them. We got them "out of the way" first. His mom, was quiet and didn't say much, just let out a few tears. His dad on the other hand, as we expected, practically had a heart attack. He screamed and yelled for what seemed like an eternity, but we tried to keep our cool, and explain to him our plans, hoping they would see that we were being responsible. My parents were a breeze compared to Kyle's, they weren't happy at first, but they were very understanding, and were happy that we were being so responsible about the situation.
As my pregnancy was progressing, and the time was ticking for graduation, we knew we had to make our plan about college. I decided that I would stay home with our daughter for the first year, while Kyle took the opportunity with his scholarships. He went to Mersyhurst studying Chemical Engineering. His mom, a stay at home mother, told us she would be honored to watch our daughter when I went back to college, but I was truly in no rush. Kyle worked up until the day I had our daughter, and I worked until 2 weeks before I had her. He moved into my parents house with me, into our "live in" basement, and we made ourselves a little home waiting our little girls arrival. On August 18th, I gave birth to our beautiful princess Paris Renee, and we couldn't have been happier.
I am now married to Kyle, we moved into our own home 3 years ago, and we can say that our life is going great! I'm a radiologist, and I love it. To my surprise, I'm late - 2 weeks late. So, we're waiting it our for a few more days to see possibly, if I'm pregnant!
Thanks for reading and I can't wait to be an active poster here :-) you girls are great!
