Current numbers (Jan. 16, 2006):
Weight: 155lbs
Height: 5'4"
Bust: 37"
Waist: 33"
Hips: 41"
Left and Right Biceps: 12" each
Left and Right Thighs: 23" each
% Body Fat: ???

Goal Weight: 135lbs

Preferred Diet: portion control with preference given to low calorie and low fat foods. I want to incorporate more whole foods and cut out some processed foods.

Preferred Exercise: 30-40 minutes of kickboxing; 15 minutes of weight training/toning/pilates; 15-30 minutes yoga/stretching. The best days to exercise are Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays, and Sundays

Good Habits: I love veggies! I use veggies to bulk up foods such as soups, salads, pasta sauce, etc. I use cooking spray unless there is a danger of foods sticking or burning; then I'll use small amounts of olive oil. I love using herbs, seasonings, and spices (I have my own herb garden and dry my herbs for winter use).

Bad Habits: I crave salty/crunchy snack foods. I am going to try to keep more veggies on hand and will replace creamy ranch dip with vinegarettes, although I may occasionally use low fat sour cream for some dips. Also, I'm not drinking enough water during the day. I mostly drink water when I am thirsty (not a soda person), but I know I'm not drinking 6-8 glasses as recommended. I like "cold" water, so I think I will freeze some water in a bottle and put water on top of the ice. I don't have much of a sweet tooth, but I do like sugar in my hot tea. I have tried using Splenda but it makes black tea taste funny when milk is added. It isn't too bad in fruit teas. Finally, I tend to snack while preparing dinner. I think I need to eat a few veggies before starting to cook, or perhaps drink hot tea or cocoa.

Ok, this week has been crazy so I haven't had a chance to keep up with the journal. I've also had a few "slip ups" but have tried to exercise to compensate for them. Once again, my weakness - cruncy/salty foods. What makes it worse is DH and SKids aren't monitoring what they eat, so there are a lot of "temptation" foods in the house. I also pin-pointed my peak weakness time of day, er, night: right before bed, especially if DH works late and eats when he gets home. Eating is so social that my stomach thinks it's hungry when I see him eating.

So my plan is to eat something light (yea sugar free jello!) before DH gets home and then brush my teeth. I hate eating when my teeth are brushed, so maybe that will keep me from cheating.

I can't remember all the meals of the past few days, so I guess I'll start fresh this week and try to make time to keep track each day of what I'm eating.

Exercise is going well, though. Sticking with the kick-boxing and toning. Today, however, my "exercise" was cleaning the house. Just how many calories can a person burn vacuuming, scrubbing toilets, and running things up and down the stairs (i.e. laundry, cat litter, vacuum, etc.)?
