8/1/05- So here I am starting at 168.5lb. In a way I'm happy about that since I haven't weighed this little since 2001, however, when I got married in Oct. 1999 I was at 140- so that was some major eating I did for a few years. When I got pregnant in July of 2002 I was 177, and when I got pregnant in April 2004 I was 194. My highest weight ever was 222 in January. By 3 weeks post partum I was back in regular clothes and by 10 weeks I was at 180 pounds. The weight loss has slowed down a lot since then. I go to the gym five days a week. at first it was just the elliptical trainer for 30-50 minutes. Then in April I started one aerobics class a week and four days of elliptical trainer, with a couple jogs on the treadmill thrown in. This is the 4th week of four days a week of classes- 2 aerobic and 2 strength training. I was really hoping that the weight would just fall off because I switched things up so much, but it hasn't really happened. I'm telling myself that I've gained muscle, which I definitely have, so that's why the scale isn't moving, even though my pants fit better. My goal is to lose 8 more pounds for the month of August- I think 2 pounds a week should be reasonable. I'll update here to share how it's going. Thanks for reading my little journey, I'll get there....

Not starting out at my 2 pounds a week goal, but at least I lost one pound this week- I was 167.5 this morning. Lately I feel much hungrier than usual and while I'm trying to pick healthy snacks I've had a couple times where I just blew it. I skipped a day at the gym last week, so this week it's back to five mornings in the gym.

Yesterday, I wore a pair of Size 10 jeans to work! I haven't worn size 10 in a few years. I know in my head that the brand tends to run big- they're like most brands' size 12, but I don't care. Size 8- here I come! (I hope)

Good luck this week to all!

Time to get back on track here. I see from my initial post that I'm now 3 pounds less than I was in August when I started this journal. Not a great thing, but at least I didn't go up. I've joined the "New You" program here at work and will be trying to reduce my overall weight or % body fat by 6% between now and March 31st. That should be an attainable goal. I've signed up for the 6am class at the gym Monday through Friday, so my goal is to have perfect attendance at those classes for the next 11 weeks. My husband and I are working on eating healthier, too. We've cut out hydrogenated oils from our diets and we're eating a lot more salad. Hopefully this will help us lose weight and set a good example for the boys. So, here we go again, 20 pounds to go!

Things are going well so far. I've lost 3.5 pounds in the past two weeks but the most important part is that I feel great. I've made it to the gym every weekday morning and even gotten in some workouts on the weekends. Over this past weekend I hit the 60 pounds mark from my highest weight ever- of course that was while pregnant, but if there's a chart out there that says my weight was 222, I'm taking credit for losing the weight! My highest non-pregnant weight was 194, so I'm 32 pounds below that, which is still decent. I think I'm only about 10 pounds from wearing my "I have a dream" jeans, that's my goal for March 31st- I'm wearing them to work.

Since you have lost 60 pounds, you will be credited with 60 pounds!

Well, I didn't break the 160 pound mark by the end of January, but this morning the scale read 160.5. So that's good enough for me. That brings me to five pounds since the second week of January so I'm not too disappointed. My size 10s are definitely comfortable now, a couple pairs are even loose. I've got nine weeks left to lose nine pounds for our fitness challenge at work. Or, if I lose an inch and a half off my waist. If I achieve either of those I'll be pretty happy.

My goal for the next two weeks

This morning was my five week reassessment at the gym for the New You program. Since January 13th, I've lost 3.6 pounds (although I've got PMS so I think that might be about a
