Hi All ~

Happy Mother's Day to all the moms on the board!!!

I know I am very sporadic in my posting here, but life is really crazy busy. I can not seem to get on and stay on any kind of routine for any length of time.

So here is where I am at:

Started the weight loss Journey in December of 2007 at a weight of 182, lost about 40 lbs and then it slowly found its way back home *sigh*. I started again a couple of months ago at a weight of 173 and I am currently holding at about 168. Not too shabby considering the distractions.

This month is super full of things to do. With Mother's Day tomorrow, the last day of school for the two seniors is about 2 weeks away. Me and SS have a birthday that we share which is also the last day of school. Then the graduation ceremony for the two kids and family coming to town the week after the last day of school.

In all of this, DH and I are under contract for buying a house. Since it is a short sale we are in the hurry up and wait mode. If all goes well we are hoping to close on June 1st with our move planned for the first weekend of June.

Not to mention...I have another international business trip sometime in June or July and vacation time in the midst of all that as well.

I cant remember the last time it has been so crazy with so much going on....now to be able to find a sense of balance. Not sure how to do that, but.....

So those are my updates and I hope to be able to post a better less stressed report with my next fly by posting. LOL

The part that gets me is that I work from home....and i still cant get it together. *sigh*

However, with my first baby step I have managed 6 glasses of water so far. Which is 6 glasses more than I had yesterday.

So YAY me!!!

Sue ~

I agree that finding the balance and the right plan for me is the biggest challenge. The Atkins Diet has always been tough and I know how much of a weakness I have for bread.

Hopefully *when* we get into our house, I will be able to do so much more. DH and I are even going to start a veggie garden. I think that will help more than anything. I look forward to the fresh veggies from my own garden.

Unfortunately, we are still waiting on the current lender to approve the sale.

Wow Judy!!! You have a busy schedule. My sister has a similar schedule where her kids are in so many activities I am not sure that there is even a single night that they are home. Always something....that makes keeping to a routine very tough.

I know that I have been on several business trips this past year which didnt help me much, but when I am not traveling I work from home. I have the luxury and the convenience, but yet I find that I can not make it work to my advantage.

As things settle down since my DD graduated high school...I hope to be able to find a good routine.

Being at home can actually sometimes be harder, I think. I am home for all 3 meals most days, week in & week out, too. Although that gives me freedom and not worrying about what DH wants to eat for breakfast or lunch, it means it's easier for me to give in to binges, etc. :o\ Which is exactly what happened in the past couple of months, during which I gained weight. UGH! The worries over DH after his atrial fibrillation incident, and whammo! Off the wagon I went with lunches mostly. Emotional binges on chips or cookies. Sure, they were low fat varieties, but they had plenty of calories! :(( Sometimes I think if I was still working, I would pack my lunch, and eat just what I brought. That's what I used to do; that's what DH does. And then I couldn't grab other stuff or have "seconds" or "thirds," because I wasn't home to get them, and I didn't pack them. Plus I usually ran/walked on most of my lunch hour in those days, so lunch was lighter and eaten at my desk. At home I can exercise with Mika dog, then come home, ravenous, and overeat. :O So, being home for all our meals isn't always an advantage, that's for sure!

Good job on the water! WOOT! ;)) I've upped my water intake beyond even what WW stipulates. I drink a lot of water with my 1 c. FF milk at meals, also, which helps fill me up as well. As long as I have a good food combo for energy and longevity to go with, I get a few hours without being hungry. And then I'm not tempted to snack, even if I am home and it's all accessible... :P

This week I have chosen to ONLY focus on one piece of this multi step program. With focusing only on the one step it has helped me to keep my focus a little bit better.

I was able to drink a minimum of 6 glasses of water every day since changing my routine. As long as I got the water in, I wasnt going to worry about much of anything else. Some days I ate better than others and other days well lets just say I am glad I am not yet holding myself accountable for the food. LOL

Results: 2.8 lb weight loss!!! Yippee!!!

I will continue with the water for another week or two before adding in baby step #2.

I actually find it much easier to stick to my food plan when I'm working during the school year. I pack my breakfast, lunch and snacks for the day and that's that....what I pack in the morning is what I eat, I really don't have any other option
