In the olden days and in England and France cookies for breakfast are often served....only in America have we made that taboo. Did you know in not many years past farmers had their pie for breakfast instead of an after dinner treat. But I know I know cookies for BREAKFAST!!! They would consume vast quantities of food in that part of the day as it would sometimes have to feed thier muscles until late afternoon when a lighter meal was served and often in the evening meal they only had bread and cheese. Just something I learned in the two year study of meals and prpereation.....research done for my daughters Renaissance wedding and reception .Sorry info is stored and can't delet it,LOL LOL

Rachel you are so cute. Yes some cookies could be could for you but if you really knew what was in some of those cookies they use to eat in the olden days you might not so much think oh these are good. Sometimes they used lard rendered from their pigs at butcher time and no amount of sugar could cover that taste and they were most often so hard they had to soak them in their tea or coffee, but they were very transportable especially on cattle drives and treks to sell their wares or skins from trapping ,they would stave off the hunger and starvation of those times especially in winter when game was scares and food supplies ran low.
