Hey ya'll... long time no post. We are finally back in school. It has been a disaster. Stevie's new teacher is .... well, I'll be nice and just say overwhelmed. I'm sure it isn't helping that his behavior has been really bad for the last few weeks. Hopefully as she gets used to him it will calm down. Jesse is doing great in his new high school. I'm finally seeing him get excited about school. He's loving his IT classes, and likes all his teachers, except the PE teacher.. but of all his classes, that one he will do well in even if he hates his teachers, lol. I think the smaller atmosphere is just what he needed, hopefully his success continues.

I did not get the full time job I wanted, but I'm still looking and will be applying for positions that look interesting. In the meantime, I'm still working in the kitchen and I do like it, but additional hours would be a much needed boost to the budget, LOL.

We have been doing a lot of meetings for Stevie's placement. We met with the folks from California in July and they have a really solid program, but they are still in the process of getting set up with the state, so it will take some time for them to be a really viable choice. We finally met with the program in Idaho two weeks ago. This program already has clients from Alaska in their facilities and they have a couple openings in a home that would be a good fit for Stevie. We loved the information on their homes and feel very comfortable with them. Now, we are just waiting to see if they will be willing to take Stevie on. If they decide to proceed, we are probably looking at him moving down there sometime around Feb.

Diet has not been going well, I have gained 5 pounds, but now that we are back in a schedule and getting back on track, I'm sure I'll be able to drop them shortly. Anyways, hope ya'll have had a good summer, I'm glad it's over, LOL.

Veronica - I'm so glad you posted! I thought about you often over the summer. I'm sure the new teacher isn't helping Stevie's behavior but hopefully they can find a "happy place" together over the coming weeks. I have a new student this year and although I'm not feeling overwhelmed, it's taking time for us to figure each other out and bond in the classroom. She is a great girl and I'm sure it will

Thanks for thinking of me, Sue and Judy. I appreciate the thoughts and prayers and almost certainly needed them over this summer. I always dread those long breaks from school routine, it makes everything SO hard.

Eating seems to be settling down and hopefully I'll start to see some more movement on the scale soon. We went for a run last night and it was our longest one ever, so slowly making improvement there. Of course, we get our running going well and then winter will hit and I don't know how we're going to keep it up, may have to invest in a treadmill.

Stevie's behavior has gotten a lot better the last few days, although we did have an issue yesterday. He got home from school and has what looks like a burn on his hand- a perfect circle. I didn't notice it at home in the morning, but saw it as I was taking off his jacket, so I checked his notebook to see if the teacher noted what happened and she wrote in there asking me how he got it! Ugh, I hate that I can't just ask him how he hurt his hand! I inspected his room last night and there isn't anything exposed on his heating vent he might have touched, so I'm at a loss.

We did hear back from the Idaho people and they are "very interested" in Stevie, but the house manager and supervisor want to meet him before making a final commitment to proceeding with the placement, so now we are waiting to hear when they want to come up here. We really wanted to meet the people who will actually be "hands on" with him every day before making our final decision, so this is good for us as well, although I'm getting anxious with all this uncertainty and waiting!

Today is grade check day for Jesse (every Friday, he comes home from school and I get him to log into the online grade posts). Last week he had two A+'s and two A's and two not posted yet. Hopefully I see more good grades this week! He never has any homework which has me a little concerned, but he says the teachers give them time in class to work on it and when he doesn't finish, he does it during lunch.

I'm glad Stevie's behavior has improved....hope that continues for you. I actually have had the same type things happen with a couple of my non-verbal students and sometimes (unfortunately)

Well, here it is the end of September. I had days where I did great on my eating and exercise and others that were horrid. The overall for the month is down 2 pounds, so that's good. I end on a good streak, so hopefully that can continue on into October! Really want to be in the 150s before Thanksgiving (that would only be a 3 pound loss, so totally doable, but it will be the "staying" there that will be the challenge, lol).

We now have a date for our big visit with the managers of the Idaho residential home for Stevie, October 13. After this visit, they will give us a final yes or no. I'm nervous, but so ready to have a final answer one way or another, this not knowing what is going on is killing me!

Hope ya'll are doing well, talk again soon,
