Wow, it has been so long!!! I had to re-sign to ivillage and make a new name (used to be judy.joey). I wish I could say things have been great with me but I can't :( long stories I'll save you from them!!). I hope everyone here is well. Now that work is coming to a close and I've managed to re-register I'll try to be more active here.

Yes, really me :) Although I've not been on the board I've thought of my friends here often! I need an update...how are the kids? Have you had anymore troubles with your thyroid? How's life in the nurse's clinic?

Work has been terrible this year. New administrator that wants to "clean house" and bring in her own people. need I say more?

The kids are good health-wise. Can you believe my baby is 2.5? Wow, what a spit-fire she is!! She is my payback for the other 2 being pretty mellow. I used to pitty parents with kids like her, wonder where they went wrong, lol. My older 2 both transitioned to new schools this year (one from private to public and the other from public elementary to public middle) and it's been extremely difficult. I think they both cried everyday from September to November. Neither has "settled" and we will likely be sending the younger one back to private school next year. I want the older one to come to my work district but my husband is totally against it. He wants her to stay put - she wants to go to private school - I'm not happy with private school options for her in our area. It's a no-win situation.

As usual the marriage is on the edge. We exist together. He continues to take on more and more volunteer positions - probably to stay away from home. I believe he has taken on another *huge* role in the community and he hasn't fessed up to me yet. We'll see if my suspicion is correct shortly. Don't you think he would stop and think when his daughter draws a family picture without him in it?

I have gotten waay off track with my weight. I'm within 10lbs. of my heaviest weight. Very sad after losing about 60lbs. I've had some concerns about my health lately and I'm really feeling motivated to do what I can to reduce or prevent major illness later in life. I've got to be there for my girls!!! If they can't motivate me nothing can :)

Anyway, enough of my issues!! I am sooo looking forward to summer! Driving the kids to camps, swim lessons, sleeping in past 5am, lol! Oh and we bought a pop-up camper so I can take the girls camping this summer :)

Let's see.......an update......so much has been going on with me!

Let's start with my favorite topic......my kids.  Mike is working at out local cable company as a tech support person.  He moved out a couple of weeks ago and is sharing an apartment with a friend.  He is now 22 years old.  School just didn't work out for him, but perhaps time on his own  will change his perspective.  We are proud of him taking this step into adult life and all that it brings.  Right now he isn't dating anyone special.  Lizzie is almost done with her junior year of high school and is now 17.  We have spent time looking at colleges and she has decided that she wants to study chemical engineering, but has not decided where yet.  This summer we will be making the rounds of some of her top schools to help her to make this decision.  She's doing great in high school......has a 3.92 GPA, inducted into the National Honor Society, and has her own babysitting business where she earns her money.  Her chorus has taken trips all that she has paid for out of her own money.

As for my Thyroid, I am now 3 years cancer free and doing well.  I've used my experience and talked with some others who have been diagnosed with the disease.  I'm healthy and keeping busy and feeling totally blessed!  Also no more problems with the diverticulitis for a couple of years.  I've been doing high fiber diet and it seems to be helping.  I did just get over having a weird upper respiratory infection......possible pneumonia which made me really sick.  The doctors aren't sure just what it was.......I just know that I'm still coughing and feeling the effects......and probably will for a while yet!

The health office is great!  Work keeps me busy, and I must admit I love my job!  I work with a great bunch of people!  Now if the pay was only better it would be the perfect job   Wink.    Sorry to hear about your problems at work.  It's a tough situation to be in!

Dave and I celebrated our 27'th anniversary.  So sorry to hear that your hubby is spending so much time away from the family......giving so much to others and not to you.  It's really hard when that happens!!  As your kids get older and life changes......you really will need each other.  Hugs!

For the past 5 months I have been doing a lot in taking care of my 91 year old aunt.  She had a fall and has been in and out of rehab facilities and is now living in an assisted living facility.  It isn't perfect, and it is a lot of responsibiltiy, but at least I know that she is safe and being cared for.

I can't believe that the baby is now 2 1/2 and a spitfire to boot!  Bet that you are on your toes.  Lizzie was my spitfire.....but I must admit as a teenager she isn't half bad!  LOL!!  hopefully you can find a school situation where both kids are happy.  I know how awful school was with Mike when he wasn't happy........It's so tough when they are unhappy and not doing well.  I guess you have to figure out the best sitution and try to make the most people happy!

Sorry to hear about your weight gain, but so glad that it did bring you back to reconnect with me!  It's been so quiet and lonely here lately, so hopefully more will return to the board!  It's so good to see you again!  I love it when old friends return........So that's the end of my update!  Glad to have you  back here!

Not sure if you can see this pic, but here is a pic of my kids!  http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=10151304592559427&l=96dfd934a5
