MYTH: It's Hard to Lose Weight as You Age

Is muffin top a given once you've hit the big 4-0? Think there's nothing you can do to combat the inevitable? Think again!

The title got me, which is what you intended I bet!

Well, its not a myth, its true that its harder to lose weight as we get older, for the reasons she mentions in the first paragraph. There are things we can and should do to combat it, but as she said in the last sentence "if you continue to exercise on a regular basis and eat whole, real food, the effects of aging will be much less severe" which to me reads: these recommendations are about damage control. Which is not to say that we cannot be happy and healthy in our later years, but we're not going to look 35!

The other thing that she doesn't say is that ideally you need to start this lifestyle before the 40s so you can stay on top of the situation as you age. Its hard enough to maintain a certain weight and higher level of fitness, trying to lose significant weight and get fit after 40 is very challenging.

I think the article is fine, and thanks for sharing it Sue. I guess I have a problem with titles that don't hold up to the article that follows.

Yep the title got you to look....and yes I intended this!  Thanks so much for visiting and posting.  It's been so quiet here......some times I feel like I am beating a dead horse.........Enough rainy day gloom.......I agree....it is harder but not impossible!  I've lost 13 pounds in a year.....and with no thyroid!
