Edible Geographic features?

Rhi had a classmate over last night to work on their current Geography project - making a volcano out of cake..........

Their Geography teacher gave the class an assignment to come up with a representation of something thay have recently worked on, using cooking  ingredients :)

Rhi and her partner choose to make a volcano, they used chocolate cake, brown fondant icing and buttercream icing to show a diagram of the inside of an active volcano (cone shaped mountain, lava pool and tubes, lava cooling as it hits the outside surface) Other than preparing their materials beforehand, they required no help from me, so I had to sit in the living room listening to them giggling and going into gales of helpless laughter, and dying of curiosity to see what was going on!!

It turned out looking pretty good, their only real problem was that it is hard to get a really good red using food colouring, so their lava is a lovely shade of rosy pink :)

The next step is to get it to school tomorrow without dropping it!

Well edible certainly solves the problem of what to do with the project afterwards doesn't it Carole? So how did Rhi go getting it to school?

Agreed! and as Elaine says there will be no issues about what to do with it afterwards (unlike many other old projects which are still hanging around the house!) Tomorrow is the day for taking it in to school, and I think I am going to drive Rhi in with it, which probably take longer than it actually takes her to walk there these days - but there will be less risk of dropping and smashing it!

Well I thought I had worked out my log in problems Molly but I was wrong, sometimes I can, sometimes I can't.  Most of the time it's "can't".
