Ending procrastination...

For the past few years I've been intending to update my (physical) photo albums.  Somehow that extra step of ordering digital prints just doesn't get done.  I used to get my films developed and then put them straight (okay, every six months I did...) into albums but since we started using a digital camera it hasn't been happening.  Dh offered to help me and so for the past few days we have been reliving 2006 and 2007.  Fortunately I had organized my photos enough on the computer so we could figure out dates and most places, but it's been a gruelling process.  We've just ordered a whole bunch of 2006 and 2007 photos.  If you're interested, Ceda, we stopped just as we reached Venice with you and P that summer, LOL.  (And, my, did we ever take a LOT of pictures in Venice, considering we were only there for the day!!)

It's actually been kind of fun reliving the boys' birthdays and trips we took.  And at this rate we'll be finished in six months or so, ROFLOL.

So what major project have YOU been putting off?

Here's a picture of me and younger ds (the goof) in London in August 2007

Awww!  Cute picture!  H reminds me of Jim Carey in that picture!  LOL  What a handsome young man he is.  :)  And his mama is GORGEOUS!  :)

I have the same problem.  I wasn't that good about getting pictures in albums as it was, but digital pictures makes it MUCH worse.  I hope to work on that some while I'm on vacation (starting Monday, not that I'm counting or anything).

I've also been procrastinating on getting the storage room cleaned up, but I've kicked it into gear again.  Not HIGH gear, mind you, but working down there once a week.

And I'd been procrastinating spot-cleaning the living room carpet, but I did that today, and now I have white carpet cleaner spots all over the room instead.  @@  I've vaccuumed twice over each individual spot ... slow and steady.  Guess I'll be vaccuuming again tomorrow.  ;)

Procrastinators of the world unite! well maybe tomorrow............... :) I am a genius at procrastination, I consider it a gift lol! The whole digital photo thing just drives me crazy; I too used to be (reasonably) good at putting Rhi's photos in albums, getting extra prints made to send to the family etc. Now since G and Rhi have both gone digital and take so many pics I don't even use my camera. However, now no one ever sees the photos - we have thousands (Possibly even millions!) of lovely photos, and no one ever looks at them because they are squirrelled away on the computer. I keep trying to persuade G to at least print some off for our parents, but he says "we can just send them emails" he simply doesn't get it that a) Dad never looks at his emails, and b) his mum wants pics she can put in her purse and show to her friends - not something she has to show to them on the "puter, or try and figure out how to work her printer to be able to take a copy. I have tried to print some out myself, and did in fact put together a set for various recent family birthdays, but G has his own filing system going in his photos and figuring out where anything is is a nightmare. I am actually considering going back to using my print camera, just to have some pictures I can look at!

I too would need to join the photo queue, there are so many to be organised.  But first on the list would have to be a clean out of the kitchen cupboards, they are bursting at the seams!

Such a fun picture. All mine are on my computer these days too. I do occasionally print one out for framing purposes but when I want to look at them I do a slideshow on the computer. I finally did unprocrastinate (that's probably not a real word) and clean the pit that is DS's room. He doesn't actually physically live here but he "officially" does. He's back and forth with his wife from whom he is officially "separated". Personally I think it's a foolish situation and she keeps it that way so she can send him and the grandson here whenever she gets in a snit (which seems to be every other weekend when her girls are at their dad's house). ANYWAY back on track I cleaned the room yesterday. It had gotten so messy it was dangerous to walk in there. My next long job to quit stalling on doing is to sort all my knitting stuff and shift summer clothes out of dressers and closets and winter stuff in.

Well, I'm among friends! I too, have photos on the computer. I too, had been keeping up the albums. I have about 12 albums starting from our wedding through our entire time in Alaska. Once we moved to Germany, I started buying albums again and putting photos in. I reached a point at which I had Years 1-4 finished, Year 5 begun, and that made me feel like Years 6-8 were manageable. I even had the box with all of the printed photos sorted out by year, some years even mostly sorted by month. AND THEN... DH got sick of all of the piles in our bedroom and "cleaned them up."  As in, tossed them all into a box :(  It's such a daunting process, I haven't had the heart to start it up again, although I know I'll want those finished. And DH lost a digital camera on a hunting trip at one point, so there are loads of photos that were never uploaded and are now long forgotten...  Oh ugh. This is making me tired, lol.

That is the trouble with digital cameras IMHO! so easy to just keep clicking and say "oh, I can just delete the bad ones, or the ones that are too similar" but of course you never do - or at least DH very rarely does!! and you end up drowning in photos that no one ever sees!
