In the home stretch!

I am in the final days of training for the year! I have two students right now...we have them taking models tomorrow, Monday and Tuesday. Wednesday they have their practice practical (iron out any last minute issues) and then their final on Thursday.

It's been a roller coaster. I don't think they really like each other all that much which doesn't help things. They aren't mean but there is some tension.

And because I had some major pain for about a week of it, I wasn't in the mood for any of it! My boss actually asked me if I don't like one of them..i like them both but my tolerance level was low (pain + caity being a 12 yo) and that student was full of excuses all week. After my boss spent two days with both of them she came to me and said, "I get it...you're a saint!" lol. They were both making her crazy! I think a lot of it is anxiety...they are both nervous people and they feed off each other. And then they get snarky...and then they feel unsure...and then they are overconfident!

To top things off, one of them somehow made it through the hiring process without having her license application approved...she's applying from out of state so there are a few extra steps. I found out because I looked at the dept of health website and it listed her as pending! I asked her and she said she hadn't heard anything but when she checked her email at lunch she found one from a week prior starting three delays in her application process: no confirmation of license from CA, her school is not accredited by the state of WA and she hadn't completed the jurisprudence exam. Pretty major stuff! But she didn't seem quite as urgent about it as I was until I told her that she will not have a job until it is straightened out. And then blame blame blame...everyone elses fault...etc etc. She and I had a pretty serious conversation after class that day....
So far no license...she is waiting for the background check to process but got everything else handled. Looks like she might get it a week after she finishes training which wouldn't be bad except it's right in the middle of the holidays so no one can take the time for an orientation...and my boss and I will both be on vacation and we have to give the final okay for her placement. She's 25yo and I hope she is seeing the life lesson in this...I've tried to make sure she is.
I will be glad for this class to be done! What an end to 2012!
On a positive note..my elbow seems to be better. I think it is stemming from my crazy tight shoulder/upper back...which is tight because I need a break! lol. Soon, soon!

{{{{{HUGS, Sarah}}}}}  Sounds like a crazy one!  The girl ... as WELL as the training session!   ;)

I understand where you're coming from with theshoulder tightness and the elbow pain.  I've been struggling with both for several months.  My chiropractor checked it out in May after I spent an evening trying to discern whether I was having a heart attack or something was going on with my shoulder.  My shoulder is out (good thing I guessed correctly, huh?  didn't have other accompanying heart attack signs ... just the shoulder/arm pain and tightness more in the back than in the chest).  I've downsized my purse.  I've stopped talking on the phone unless I can hold the phone with my hand.   I had been working really hard at changing my sleeping patterns, but recently, other things have happened that have interfered with the continuation of that.  I am getting my shoulder adjusted every week at this point, which helps considerably.  Two weeks is too long in between.  And with the amount of use yours gets, it may need it more often.  Bio Freeze is a blessing as well!  I hope you can find relief soon.

Thinking of you~

You ARE a saint Sarah! I think anyone who teaches qualifies for instant sainthood :)

I have limited patience for that kind of thing (particularly in adults) and would most likely be banging their heads together long before the end of the week!

I am glad you made it obvious to MIss "whatever" that not having her licence WAS a big deal! She certainly seemed to move fast enough once she realised that there would be consequences.

Hugs to you - I am glad you are taking a break soon - take time to enjoy it!

We have an aromatherapy blend that helps tremendously. I've been using an arnica cream on the shoulder and the aromatherapy oil on the elbow. The oil has chamomile which helps with nerve pain. It was the only thing that helped! I definitely think mine is purely muscular and I toohave made adjustments to my routines..although it's my right side so that's been difficult. Today is the first test of how good i'm actually doing...

Haha...i think you might be right Carole. I think she's had an easy time persuading people to do things for her instead of doing them herself. I've had to refrain from "mothering" her myself! I always hope that the younger ones get these lessons. I have decided that if she complains that someone else isn't doing something fast enough (in regard to her license...as she has been) I will be reminding her that had she checked her email and acted on it immediately that she would be receiving her license next week instead of two weeks from now. I suppose I can't always have it easy...i was just on such a roll!

Oh Sarah, I think you have really earned your break!  It seems you have really had your hands full lately.
