Last night, I attended the holiday party for the salon/spa I work at (home office party is this friday).
A few hours before it started, I received a text from one of my co-workers saying that she had heard that J -the woman who I had all that drama with last year and who quit at the beginning of this year- would be attending with one of our co-workers. I was grateful for the heads up (and apparently everyone knew except me) so I wouldn't be caught off guard when I saw her.
She was there. I avoided her all night. The woman who brought her made ey're contact with me a few told and waved but I never went and talked to her.
I get it that people are allowed to have friends that I don't care for....but I'll be honest, I'm a little upset that she brought J with her. Especially since she knows that history and she knows that no one in our spa likes J except her. I feel a little disrespected. I don't think I've ever felt disrespected until yesterday!
I don't know if B will say anything to me about it when I see her at work but I plan to be honest with her about how it makes me feel.
I can't believe J had the nerve to show up...she has no sense of appropriateness!
Ughh...had to vent...thanks!
Ooooh but on a positive note: I won $100 at the party! They do a drawing every year and i've never won. This year was my year! Woooooohoooooo!

Thank goodness for the one who was thoughtful enough to give you a heads up! I know you would have been professional about it even if you had been caught off-guard, but knowing ahead of time is better!

Personally I would have not even wanted to come to a party at a place I used to work and left on bad terms. Maybe she doesn't see it that way? but surely her friend knows how the other staff members felt, why would you want to put someone you like through all that?

Sometimes people are just plain weird!

Double Hooray for the $100.00!!

Apparently she doesn't think it's strange. I spoke with the friend who gave me the warning today and she said after I left the lady that brought her kept trying to get her to take pictures with J. I saw one on facebook and my friend looks almost scared! lol. Her friend does know because she and I have talked about it. But I am not sure if she realizes just how disliked J is in our department. I had to laugh today because I got multiple text messages from multiple people asking, "WHY was she there?!". I even got a call from a former co-worker who lives in Denver asking what she was thinking...lol. I feel validated that I'm not just holding a grudge.
