Whine time...

Or maybe wine time? ;)

I noticed on Thursday evening that my right elbow was kind of achey...but of course I thought maybe I had just overdone it rolling pie crusts out or something. By bedtime it felt a little more painful. Went to work the next day and had only 2 appointments but the second was a large man that wanted deep work...by that time, I knew that it was going to be quite uncomfortable but I managed to make my way through. Went home and iced, thinking it was a tendonitis thing.
Got up Saturday feeling a little under the weather but my elbow felt a little better. Went to work, and by the time I got there, my elbow was throbbing and I was dreading having to massage anyone. I got set up though, thinking I had a full day and that i would at least try to make it through and then I'd have a couple days off to rest. But when I looked at my books all but the last two had canceled. I spoke to a manager, called another therapist to see if she would come in early (she did!) and went home. By the time I got home I was completely congested, in pain and emotional...lol.
Iced more, took some cold medicine and rested.
Sunday, wasn't much better but the cold started to subside by the evening at least. This morning, I dropped caity off and headed to the doctor. After some poking, prodding and an x-ray the diagnosis is that my ulnar nerve is inflamed/angry probably from overuse. I've been instructed to take it easy for a couple days and was given a prescription for an anti-inflammatory.
Overall I just feel cranky. I have a headache, my head is congested, my elbow hurts and I'm cold.
But on a positive note, it's not arthritis or bursitis. And I have some taco soup in the crockpot that i'm using the last of our turkey leftovers in...smells delicious! Hey, I can smell! lol

There's always a bright side I guess lol! I am sorry you're having such a hard time. G has the cold that's going around too, and he is also cranky and whiney - must be par for the course :) I hope your elbow feels better soon, fingers crossed the anti-inflammatories will help that, and once the cold is on it's way out, all the other aches and pains should subside too.

ps: a small grr and whine from me - still having trouble using Quick Reply, surely these issues should be sorted by now!

It must be difficult for you at times Sarah, your job can be very physical and on days when you are not feeling 100% it must be so hard for you to keep going, it's not like a desk job where you can just battle on.

I hope you are feeling much better soon.

Your job requires so much of you physically! Do you know the Scudder technique? I highly recommend it for icky days to get rid of the toxic energy. I hope you're feeling much better for now, and SO glad someone could come in and cover you. :) Rest and fluids and Reiki, my friend ... you'll be better in no time!
