D&C next week! What next?!?!

I had my 6w postpartum visit today... I mentioned to my OB that I thought I might have expelled some small pieces of placenta a couple weeks ago (GROSS). She sent me for an u/s, and sure enough, I have a golfball sized chuck of placenta stil attached to my uterus -- it even has blood flow still going to it. So basically if I don't get this removed, I could hemorrage or it could become septic & potentially life threatening. WTF, right??? So the only way to remove it is a D&C. Like I have time for that. Luckily my SIL is going to take ther older 3 kids for a few days, and I'm splitting the babies up between two friends that day.

After the horrible birth experience I had, plus this, I am getting annoyed!!! The plus side is that I will get a day off of mommying to rest... isn't that kind of wrong to think that? LOL

Just had to share...

Awww Jamie - Im sorry you had such a hard time this time around :-( I hope it all goes easy for you and that you are able to heal quickly!

BTW - I would totally look forward to having a day of rest and if it was ME, I would be milking it for at least 2-3 days! LOL I remember when Sammy was up EVERY two hours for the first SIX MONTHS of his life - and not wanting to have anything to do with a bottle for the first FIVE months I was so friggin bleary eyed and exhausted I was actually looking forward to going to the DENTIST - the FRIGGIN dentist - for a crown. I think I fell asleep during it!!! HA!

Awww, Jamie, so sorry to hear that. I hope you can pawn the kids off for a few more days and get some rest outside the hospital, too?

Ugh! What a pain, I'm so sorry this happened to you. I hope it's easy, and that you get a little extra rest out of it.

It is so not wrong to think that! You've literally got your hands full and could definitely use a break. I'm sorry it has to be something like this, but take it where you can get it right? Hope it goes well and that you are able to get some rest.

Hope all goes well - and enjoy your rest! ITA with the PP's - milk it for a couple extra days if you can, or at least have someone staying with you afterwards to help for a couple if you can.

Lots of hugs & prayers!
