Ditto what Sandra said, the blogging world can suck you in!
I blog. I have a picture blog - I try for one picture each day. It's been fun, and it is way to encourage me to take pictures each day.
I've given the link to various family members (grandparents who don't see the kids very often), and they never look. Well hardly ever, anyway.
Two neat links for anyone who blogs (IMO, anyway)http://www.thecutestblogontheblock.com/ go under free backgrounds, and there are a ton of free (and easy to use) backgrounds for your blog. This makes it super easy to change, without loosing any changes you've made.
http://www.google.com/analytics/ and here's one that tracks who visits your blog. Again, really easy to use, and kind of neat, too.
(AAAAh! My firefox crashed mid post so I have to retype this!)
My DH and I have a blog about Kat for our families. We kept up with it until Sept when we found out that Macy had t18. Then I started a Caring Bridge blog about Macy and have been journalling through it. I hope to re start Kat's blog too eventually. (Caring Bridge is a free website for those with medical illnesses, designed to help keep family/friends updated.)
I love this blog about Violet on babycenter. She's about a year older than our ADs and I've been reading it since Kat was a few months old. I'm a little behind now, but I used to read it weekly.http://blogs.babycenter.com/momformation/category/very-violet/
