My DS is constantly chewing at his fist lately and is really drooling.

Our doctor specifically mentioned to us today at Declan's 2 month appointment that this drooling and chewing on his hands will be happening soon if it wasn't already, but that it is not teething yet, just a natural instinctive behavior (readying him for teething later). He hasn't started too much with the drool, but is definitely chewing his hand a lot! HTH

Otto chews on his fist lots too...often wondered if he could be teethinb, but I don't feel anything..also I have already put his teething toys in the fridge and I give them to him sometimes just to suck on.

Santino does the same thing. He is constantly drooling too. My sister cut her first tooth at three months, so some of these little guys are getting close. Good luck, if it is teething.

I don't think it's teething; I think it's just a baby thing. The babies are getting old enough to figure out how to get their fists in their mouths when they actually want to, instead of just by accident! And what's a baby to do but chew :-)

I was told it's just a developmental thing but not teething yet. So, while it's messy, they aren't hurting (thankfully!)

I keep thinking that DS is trying to swallow his own fist!
