Last week Braden had an apt at the Shriner's Hospital in Montreal.

Wow that is a big decision. However, I think that it sounds like you already know what you want to do. The next question is, how far do you want to travel to do it? St. Louis is very, very far. I happen to work at the adult hospital, Barnes Jewish, which is connected to Children's, and can tell you that it would be top notch care. Were either of my kids to need surgery, or another surgery I would go there. My older DD had to have a surgery when she was 1 & that is the hosptial we went to. Not sure if that info was of any help, but if I can help let me know, since I am in the area.

That is a lot to think about. I think that less invasive surgeries generally are better on the body, but you would be very far from home. However, with the surgery being less invasive, he might be able to travel home quicker and easier.

Just curious, would your insurance cover travel expenses involved with an out-of-country surgery?
