For those duckies who are in "big" beds (vs. toddler beds), do you have a railing on the edge of their bed to keep them from falling out?

YES, Brantzen has one on his bed, JIC ... they are easy to put on, and take down when done with it .. so I'd get her one.

I forget how old my other kids were when I stopped using it .. probably closer to 4.5ish? Also .. just b/c she has a big bed doesn't mean she won't fall out ... my 6 year old .. though she doesn't fall out of her bed .. she sleeps in a queen, but on the VERY edge - it cracks me up. I always tell her - you've got this entire bed .. and you remain on the edge. LOL

Yes, Amelia is in a big bed, and has a railing on her bed. DH got the bright idea a few months back to take it off. That went well (NOT). She fell out of bed twice a night for a few days until I put it back on myself. She tends to sleep right up next to the railing at night or against the wall - I don't think she tosses and turns a lot, but like I said sleeps right next to the railing.

We have a rail on his big boy bed and he will need it for quite a while I think. He is a wild sleeper and is all over the place in his bed.

Layna is in a full size bed and doesn't have a railing. We just stick a firm pillow on each side of her and she's good.

Dylan is in a big boy, twin bed, with one side against the wall.

Owen is in a twin bed and has no railing. He moved from a toddler bed where he was constantly bumping into the sides, etc. He fell out once and hasn't done it since. I was worried it would be a problem, but my (untested) theory is that they learn to accommodate what they have. Put a railing on, and they won't learn to stay away from the edge; take it off and they learn to keep to the middle of the bed.

I'm on one side, and there's a body pillow on the other.
