Christmas/ holidays?

thought it would be an interesting comparison to see what everyone spent on their kids, between the big man and from you and dh?

Hmmmm...this year it will probably be $300. But she's our only child. I didn't intend to spend so much, but I really wanted to buy her a nice wooden table/chairs for her new playroom. That cost $175. Then I just got a couple of other toys + some stocking stuff.

DH & I are only exchanging stockings - trying to keep the $ down this year!

Probably $100 or slightly less. We buy one big thing and one small thing, is the rule.

Probably 1 gift from Santa Claus (a little thing) (less than 20 dollars)

Probably a couple of gifts from DH & I.....no more than 100 dollars total for each kid.

I have to talk to DH and see how much we are gonna spend on each other?

I think it's $150 total for DD. She just wanted to ask Santa for new bath towels, and those were $10.

I'm in charge of everyone's stockings so I usually spend $20-$25 on those, and DH & I usually only get each other $20-$50 gifts. Last year he didn't get me or DD anything...this year he's not getting DD anything but he said he'd get me something. We'll see.

I try to keep it under 100 for each kid just to keep it fair.

It depends on the year for us. This year Santa spent $100 on each. Matt is getting a basketball goal and Nate is getting a spring horse. Then they will get 5 gifts to open plus stockings. Matthews total is ALOT more $ wise than Nathans is. He is getting motocross gear($250) for his dirtbike. Nathan is getting books, train set and some Diego stuff(appx $50). With Nathan being so young he doesn't care how much we spend.

We're doing a bunch of smaller things but man does it add up! I do an advent calendar with little trinkets etc, a stocking for each girl, presents from Santa plus presents from DH and I. I actually totalled everything up and we spent approximately $350 total for both girls. It's pretty equal at $175 each. But I didn't include things like clothes I"m wrapping to give to them b/c they need the clothes anyways. And a Duvet cover & pillows for DD #1. She'll like opening it but it won't be that thrilling for her.

Well, this year we'll have 1 to buy for (DD) since our newest addition (Cori II 11/9/09) really doesn't know what's going on.
