What's your favorite form of exercise?

How do you stay motivated to exercise?

As of now, my favorite form of exercise is running.

I LOVE to dance. I did ballet (modern, specifically denishawn), a few years of tap, and a season of training in various ethnic dances like Spanish dancing, Waltz, Irish, hula, etc. In later years we did some contemporary and lyric dancing as well. I miss it so much...at least once a week I have a dream where I start dancing in the middle of daily life. One of my goals is to get enrolled in an adult dance class (not adult as in XXX, adult as in for grown ups, hehe) when I'm healed enough from my surgery to allow it. Unfortunately I feel kind of picky about it. The teacher I trained with all those years was trained by the creators of Denishawn (yeah, she was old...), so I had high-quality training. Just learning some midwestern dance studio version of "ballet" would be frustrating to me. I've been thinking about seeing if any of the colleges in Ft. Wayne would have something I could do.

Motivation...well, that's hard. I haven't been able to exercise in really any capacity since we discovered my prolapses, and since my other health problems advanced when I was in college, impact exercise of any kind has been out of my life for years. I used to be a decent long-distance runner and LOVED taking my feelings out that way. That's something I miss, but I'll never be able to put my body through running again. I guess my motivation is getting as sexy a mom body as possible after my surgery. Since I'm not allowed to have more kids, it's like I want to pour some of that desire into my physical appearance, if that makes any sense. If I won't ever be gloriously pregnant again, I can at least be a very fit and attractive momma, right? :) So that's kind of a superficial motivation, but that's what I've got.

I do have the Wii Fit, and I can do many of those exercises even with my prolapses, so when we finally settle into a routine around here, I want to start doing that at least 3 times a week. So far I got back to work, then DH got the flu, now Tovi has it, so...well, routines don't exist for us yet. All in due time, right?

I'm fine, which is very good news for my family. Sure, I'm tired and not getting to rest at all, but that's better than being so sick myself that I can't help anyone else. Oren's fine too, thank God. Tovi's in and out. There are times that Motrin lets him feel so well that he's pretty much his normal self, but then there are hours and hours of him just writhing and crying...and boy, that's hard. He wouldn't eat or drink today, which made me nervous, but DH figured out that he willingly takes medicine. Sooo...we put some Pedialyte in a medicine cup and told him to take his medicine, and he did! After that he ate some applesauce, a few bites of macaroni and cheese, and drank a little more. He's back to himself more now, which is a relief.

DH has been without a fever for a couple days now, so he's coming out of the woods, but still feels really crummy. He's weak, dizzy, coughing a lot, and dealing with lots of pressure in his chest and back. The doc has him on a Z Pak to avoid infection in his lungs. Apparently one of the risks of this flu strain is secondary infection after it goes away.

The doc gave Tovi a script for some more of the decongestant/antihistimine he takes for allergies, so that will help him feel a bit better too. We went ahead and did Oren's well baby check while we were in. He's 22 and a half inches, 9 lbs 14 oz, and healthy! Poor guy got three shots and has been crabby (which is fun with a sick toddler and hubby!), but that's OK.

Hoping they're all well soon! Trying to stay sane in the mean time.

Hmmm well I don't think I have a favorite. LOL!

But right now Josh and I are doing the stretch workout from P90X.

It is tough, no matter how hard I will it my feet will NOT go over my head!

But in 2 weeks we are starting Cardio so I am sure I will hate that!

I stay motivated because Josh does it with me.
