We never wear shoes in the house. It started when we were living in an apartment and didn't want to be clomping around all day bothering people. I don't insist that people take off their shoes when they come over but usually they see the shoes by the front door and just do it on their own.

I let everyone leave shoes on-unless they want to take them off-or if it's wet out I'll encourage them to remove them (mainly just kids though-I don't think I'd ever ask another adult to take off their shoes). I have been wearing my shoes constantly in the house lately since I read that it should help with my heel pain to wear them. I got new slippers for Christmas & was wearing them a ton & that's when my heel started hurting-so I think it was the bad support in them that pushed me over the edge.

We were also told by a carpet salesman a long long time ago that going barefoot on your carpet is bad for it because the oils in your skin get into the carpet & then make it dirty faster & it's hard to get the oils out. So I rarely go barefoot-I'll wear socks if I don't have on shoes or slippers. Thought that was interesting...not sure if it's true but seems logical.

I almost always wear shoes of some sort, because I have foot pain, too (plantar fasciitis).

Most everyone I know allows shoes in the house.

I would say we do not wear shoes in the house about 90% or more of the time.

I wear my shoes in the house. DH and T don't generally. I don't expect anyone to take their shoes off if they are guests in my house. I do appreciate when workmen, like the exterminator, wear shoe covers inside but that doesn't always happen either. In both of our families you don't wear your

I always have some sort of shoe on - either shoes or usually slippers. I HATE going barefoot and my feet get really cold. The girls rarely wear shoes in the house and DH is also usually barefoot, but sometimes wears slippers. We don't have any rules about what others do with their shoes in our house and I would be upset if someone forced me to take my shoes off at their house.
