I LOVE genealogy. Of course I have been watching the show "Who Do You Think You Are?" so I decided to see if anyone else shares this hobby with me?

I love the show and think genealogy is fascinating but I wouldn't do it for my own family tree...too much mass murder (Holocaust) and weirdness (bigamy).

Lori, it's on Friday nights at 8/7pm central. The episodes are available online and right now they are showing reruns this week and the next two.

Jenna, that is just fascinating to me! But I can understand not wanting to dig a bunch of that up.

I haven't seen the show but I too love genealogy. My great Uncle did an extensive family tree for my mom's side. We have an interesting family line as well. LOL. Martin Van Buren's VP is a member. Lots of horse thieves... My great grandfather worked for Al Capone. A signer of the Declaration of Independence. Normal stuff I guess... LOL.

I'd like to do some on DH's family. They don't know much about where they came from.

I have never been into it that much-but think it would be cool. My Grandfather & all of his siblings were sent to the US & Canada when he was little during WW1. I was told that his father was the royal blacksmith for Kaiser Wilhelm in a part of Germany that's now Poland. (Not sure if "royal" is the right word because a Kaiser isn't a king-but that's what was passed down) Someday maybe I'll get into it...

Jess, that is soooo cool! "Normal" stuff, yeah, right!

Laura, it's those stories that can get you started. Curiosity builds the tree!

Deanna, I completely agree on not paying for anything. I used to subscribe years ago but it just got to be too much.
