Anyone have a really special day? Anyone have a terrible day? (I hope not.)

I've been sick with a nasty cold. I slept and Robert took care of both girls.

My day wasn't too bad. I was supposed to sleep in but DH didn't get up quite as early as the boys did. He offered to take us out to breakfast but I said that I'd rather go to lunch or dinner out. I made breakfast and then we all went to buy a tree that I'd been wanting for the backyard. We took the scenic drive home (to avoid the interstate with the tree) and the boys fell asleep. DH planted the tree while I made some brownies. When it was time for dinner, I really didn't feel like getting ready to go out so I just cooked on the grill. DH bought me a bulb for watering my flowers and the magic bullet (for smoothies and milkshakes mosty). Both of the boys made things for me at daycare.

It was great - thank you for asking.

We went to visit DH's 97 year old grandmother. The whole family came there and we had KFC chicken (LOL old family tradition).

Lana brought her bike and helmet and we went around the neighborhood with SIL and niece (Lana's teenage cousin) following her on her bike. It was a beautiful day and a quiet dead-end neighborhood, perfect for walking and riding bike.

When we got home dh and Lana gave me my gift - Mamma Mia movie ("because it's your favoritest mommy!"). Lana asked me if there are any witches in it and I said "no, it's about a young woman getting married and her and her mom planning the wedding". So we snuggled to watch the movie together. The first scene was of the daughter (Sophia) on the boat singing. Lana looks and me and say - "That's Mia, right mommy?" LOL, she thought that the movie's name Mamma Mia was Mamma and Mia (daughter).

When we got to the scene where mom is helping daughter get ready for the wedding (they are sitting together in an armchair and mom is painting daughter's toe nails and they are singing the most heart wrentching song ever) Lana looks at me and says: "mommy when I'm getting married, will you please let me sit in your lap and will you paint my toe nails for me?"

I almost chocked with emotions. It might have been my favorite parenting moment.

Here is the clip: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BbPsVknvg0Y

My favorite part of the movie.

Awwww! We had a lot of fun watching Mamma Mia! Did you see the 30 Rock Mamma Mia episode last week? It was hilarious.

My mother's day was a lot of fun! Ted made breakfast, I slept in, we went on a walk through the neighborhood, we hung out in the back yard - it was lovely! And I got very thoughtful gifts - some books I'd been wanting, a membership at a local museum, and Molly made me a tile with a handprint which I adore!
