The fireworks nearby were rained out, so we didn't see any real ones this year.

I think I was more afraid then she was - since Ted and my uncle were responsible for the fireworks spectacular this year! They went out to get some groceries and came back with a giant package of fireworks, including a monstrosity called NEW YORK HARBOR. Which cost more per minute than calling China.

She did cover her ears but she had a great time watching everything. We didn't let her do sparklers though because the ones that came in the pack were more like fire sticks than the traditional sparklers I remember. It's hard to explain - but there definitely was a difference.

Molly is afraid of spiders, being under water, and dogs within 2 feet of her. If they are a greater distance than 2 feet away, they're "so beautiful" "good puppy" and "I love you, sweet doggie!" The moment they pass that threshold, she runs screaming for the hills/highest piece of furniture.

We went to our civic fireworks display, and Annika thought they were neat (though maybe not worth waiting 3 hours on a blanket for).

John was annoyed about the 3 hours in the grass (which he's allergic to) and then we found out that the fireworks were going to be set off BEHIND the hill we were on, and in fact, behind the tall hotel and parking garage.

Linnea squealed like crazy every time they went off - I've never seen her so excited.

One year we took our dogs with us when we went to the fireworks. Not a good idea at all.

Brayden loved the fireworks. I think 4th of July is his second favorite holiday (to xmas of course). He loves getting together for the bbq with people and then loves the fireworks. I dont think he went to bed until midnight that night. Hailey on the other hand jumped and wimpered every time they went off. Ended going back in the house with her.
Brayden is very afraid of bugs though. Pretty much any kind that moves or is on the wall, hes afraid of.

Both Matthew and Nathan were just ok with the fireworks display. We parked on the roof of a parking garage and the fireworks were right above us. They didn't want to get out of the car but if I sat in the car with them (with the windows down and sunroof open), they were pretty content watching them.

Nope, Hannah wasn't scared. In fact, she kept bugging Brent to let her light them off... (when she was told she was too little, she got very defensive saying she was a big girl.. )

we didn't go to a display, just lit off smaller ones in our yard, since Charlie wasn't even a week we couldn't really go anywhere. Last year she wasn't a huge fan of them but not really afraid. The ones that make the loudest noises she didn't like.

Hannah's afraid of any kind of bug and will scream and make me come kill them. Even outside she freaks out, but I've explained that outside is their world and we're not goign to kill them for no reason. If they're inside OUR house then it's fair game however.
