The cars ride was super-fun! We got a fast pass but our time slot was 5:30-6:30 p.m. so it was the last thing we did. Next time I'll get the fast pass but then go wait in line when the park first opens and it is only a 1 hour wait. Then we can go twice! If I get there in time for the fast pass next time, that is.

I was going to comment on how late your school year is ending, Laurie - but I just checked and A is done June 24!! I thought they were done the 16th last year and I had been under the impression that this year was even earlier.

Wow you guys are getting out of school late. I think our last day is on the 6th. Then again we don't have any weather days built in at all.

Yes, our school year runs late, but we also start late compared to other parts of the country. Camryn didn't start until after Labor day. Although I heard for next year it will be a week earlier. Looks like they will have a full week this week as the storm went out to sea.

I already registered both girls for YMCA camp for the summer. They had early bird registration and I saved 10% on each of them. Its only $2500 for the whole summer which is pretty reasonable. That's probably $1,000 less than if they were at the daycare and there is so much more for them to do. I am also looking into basketball camp for Camryn through the park and rec, which is where she played this winter. Her friend did it last year and did a week of morning camp. Her mom said she could bring Camryn home and keep her for the afternoons that week. I think it would be fun for them.

So Camryn had soccer try-out for a summer program on Sunday. She did pretty well. She started off strong and then got tired and a bit lazy in the middle. But then at the end she was on fire and scored 5 goals!! It was awesome. They basically said that in her age group all the kids will be able to participate if they want to...they aren't cutting anyone. But it was a good experience for her to try-out in front of the coaches. She wasn't really nervous at all. She she will have twice weekly soccer sessions in the evenings for 8 weeks over the summer. The sessions will be 75-90 minutes long, which I think will be perfect for her. And its not that expensive...like $200. She's excited.

Addison starts after Labor Day too...but I think we might have shorter breaks in there. What are Camryn's hours? A goes 7:40-2:05.

Addison's YMCA camp is only $500/month. Same as her half-day schedule during the year! I might put Gabe in there this summer if I don't need to worry about him losing his Transitional Kindy slot at his current school. But that would make things tricky because I let A stay home a lot during the summer. I won't be able to do that for him too...he won't let me work!
