My Plate replaces the Food Pyramid, I actually like it, it gives us a mental image of what we should be including in our families' daily intake. What do you think about the new nutritional model?

I like it too! The visual image is great and quickly confirmed my suspicion that my kids don't get near enough veggies. Have to try to do better there...

I know! It was a reminder to me as well about my own vegetable intake. I love veggies but sometimes I shortcut the process at dinner and just make one veg side dish when I should actually have a couple ..

Just read Gabby a bedtime story she had picked out at the library.

I agree, the plate is a visual that kids understand. That's pretty cool that there's a Dr Seuss book about healthy choices. I've forgotten how many there are but I still have my favorites (Mulberry Street, One Fish Two Fish, Are you My Mother) awesome books :)

I think so too, seems more self explanatory than a pyramid. Plus the dairy on the side makes sense to kids.

Ha-ha, we like "Berenstain Bears and Too Much Junk Food" and the Little Critter "Good for Me and You" books.
