4 days late...pregnant?

Hi,
I was supposed to get my period on May 1st, and today (May 5th), it's still not here. I don't even feel like I'm going to get it: no cramps, no bloating, no headaches, no sore breasts. All those symptoms usually precede my period, not always, but usually. I don't have any of those. What I DO have is constipation. But this isn't all that alarming, since I've been plagued by on-and-off constipation for years now. It'll come suddenly and leave just as suddenly. I guess I'm just nervous and attributing the late period and constipation to my being pregnant.
Also, I think it may be important to note that the only time my periods have EVER come on time was when I was on the birth control pill. After being on the pill for about 1 year, I stopped taking it around January of this year (2008), because it was wreaking serious havoc with my emotions. The last time I had my period was last month, and even that came I think 1 or 2 days late. That leads me to believe that my body is just reverting back to normal (pre-pill). It took a couple months for the pill-induced hormones to wear off, and now my body's (hormonally) back to how it was pre-pill.
Furthermore, I don't have any of the symptoms of pregnancy, except possibly constipation. I'm not more tired than usual, no nausea, no weight gain, no frequent urination, no sore breasts, etc.
I'm thinking of taking a pregnancy test if I don't get my period within a couple days. What do you all think? Your advice/suggestions would be much appreciated.
Thank you in advance for your time.

Wow, thank you. You've just alleviated a good deal of my anxieties! I will take a test, just to be sure, but I also think it's just my body reverting back to (ab)normal.
Thanks again for your speedy reply!
Lin,
I've been going thru the exact same thing.
Wow, my situation is FAR less stessful than yours! I'm so sorry for what you're going through! I hope you get some answers, hopefully nothing bad. Thank you, though, for posting a reply; it's always more comforting to know that you're not going through this alone. Sometimes it really sucks to be a woman. Men have it easier in many cases.
Please keep me (us) posted on the results of the doc's appointment. I hope everything turns out well! Good luck.

May 16th.. haha oh well I get to celebrate my one year wedding anniversary the 13th! so maybe some post anniversary news.
Wow...that's a long way away. I hate that about doctors.
Congratulations on your anniversary! :) That's exciting.
Good luck at your appointment. And if it's not too much trouble, I'd be curious to know how it turns out.
Thank you again.

Hi,
my name is milly I'am 25 and never been on the pill but started a relationship back in Nov. 07 and about a month or two started worrying because I had not gotten pregnant jet. I was actually about to make an appt.with a doctor when. I like u where supposed to get my period may first but did not, I didn't know what to think , I have been cramping a little but it feels so different than menstrual cramps I have some of the symptoms of pregnancy but afraid to take the test. On ur case, I have friends that were pregnant and had no symptoms
Thanks for the reply. :) Yes, I've heard about some women who are pregnant but don't show the usual signs and symptoms. That's actually really frustrating.
No, I don't want to get pregnant; we used a condom, but it broke.
I'm going to give it a couple more days, and if I still don't get my period, I'll probably take a test or schedule a gyn appointment.
