Ok here goes yet another question. I have never used an OPK before but I bought one to test for pg. The first 2 I took were positive....then I got a negative very faint line. So I figured maybe I was ovulating instead of being pg....then this morning it was very very positive...just as dark as the control line. What does all this mean? I am loosing it. I was gonna go the dr today but wouldn't you know they are closed for labor day. I have some faint positive test, but today the fre was negative. My lmp was June 14, 2003. Some one please help me understand the OPK's......maybe they are not accurate in detecting pg......or maybe my hormones are all messed up...........I just don't know any more. I feel VERY VERY VERY PG....just wish something would happen to let me know one way or the other.

Sorry you are having such a rough ride this cycle. I don't know how long you cycles usually are, but maybe it is time to call the doctor for answers. Besides a pregnacy test they can also find out what your other hormone levels are to help determine what's going on with you.

OPK measures LH which is similar in structure to hCG and so will read it too. Pregnancy tests only measure for hCG (pregnancy hormone). The amount of LH a woman has in her system varies from woman to woman. Some women have high LH amounts all cycle and opk will pick that up. OPK can indicate pregnancy but (imho) isn't the most accurate way.

I know it is hard to wait but a seeing a doctor right now would be a good idea. In the mean time, take good care of yourself. It's hard not knowing one way or another, I ahve been there. Sending you lots of calming thoughts.

Wish I could be of more help. Best Wishes. ~~Kris~~
