Im buying a hpt tonight. I've never done one before so I was wondering if you ladies had any suggestoins of brands. Also, does it matter what time of day I do it? My period is about 2 weeks late, if I was even suppose to get it. I had light breakthrough bleeding for a couple days from missing bc pills around the same time my period was due, so I don't know what to think.

Thanking you in advance for your replies :)

Hi Chrissy,

I really like clearblue earliest results pg test. It measures a very small amount of hcg, so it's slightly more accurate than some other tests. You should use the test with your first morning urine as it is more concentrated. I hope this helped.

Okay, I bought a Clear blue test the other night, but I havent used it yet. Im kind of fighting with myself to actually do it. If I do it that means that Im actually taking this seriously and I don't know how serious my problem is. The symptoms that I was feeling have kind of slowed down. I get queesy feeling on and off but I don't throw up. My boobs are slightly bigger but not sore. I broke out in pimples which is strange and my pee smells (TMI) funny and is really yellow. But other than that, I don't feel pregnant. I switched bc pill brands a month and a half ago so these "symptoms" could all be because of that, even the missed period. Normally, I wouldn't have thought anything about it and the thought of being pregnant would never cross my mind. But I did miss a few pills, and then a girlfriend of mine said she got pregnant while taking the Alesse bc pills (the brand I just switched to). If you were me, would you think you were pregnant and test? Or should I just tell myself to stop thinking nonsense?

I would just go ahead and take the test. Especially since you missed a few pills and are having some symptoms. If nothing else it will ease your mind to know for sure. How late is your period? Let me know what happens!

I am on Alesse too! I have been on it for about a year, but now am having thoughts that i may be PG. I have several of the symptoms that everyone is listing. but AF isnt due until 10/25, so am waiting until then to see. but question: what if i am PG, and am still taking the pills? could it possibly hurt the baby??

Well, this is the part that confuses me. My period was due around October 11th. But on Oct 6th I had some brown spotting. I thought it was breakthrough bleeding from switching pill brands. It lasted on and off for about a week and it wasnt period-like blood. So, if that was not period then I am 2 weeks late. I havent gotten period-like blood yet, but maybe Im not supppose to because of the pill switch. All of my "symptoms" are probably just from the pill switch right? Or maybe not. Your right, I should just get it over with and put my mind at ease. Im really scared though. Two nights ago I had a dream that I took a pregnancy test and a line showed-up. I probably just dreamed it because it was on my mind. But of course, that added to my fright.

Im afraid to find out im pregnant, but Im also afraid that I'll be disappointed that Im not. Its like your body plays tricks on you, so you think your pregnant, and you get used to the idea that you might actually be pregnant.and then negative.

Anyways, I'll test and let you know the result. If Im really two weeks late it shouldnt matter if I test at night or morning right?

From what I've heard, you should still continue to take your pills until you are positive you are in fact pregnant. Im still taking mine eventhough im wondering. If your pregnant your pregnant, and the pill wont stop what is already done. If you still take pills and are pregnant, it wont hurt the baby. I read up on that on this website.

Hi Chrissy

Usually the first time you need to go to the toilet in the morning is better.

Okay, I did it. Negative. I did it lastnight b/c I could not wait til morning. I knew it was just my body playing tricks! Its probably best that Im not pg now. But within the 2 weeks that I thought I could be, I sorta got used to the idea, even tossed some baby names around. I feel for you ladies that want to make babies and get the BFN. Its a monthly emotional roller coaster.

Thanks for listening and for the advice.
