After a tummy tuck, and carrying a child
| Wed, 02-21-2007 - 12:34pm |
Hi I found myself in a big jam here. I have had a tummy tuck a couple years ago and I recently found out that i'm prgnant. I don't know if i'll be doing the right thing by trying to bring the child into this world, because of my tummy tuck. Will my tummy stretch enough to accomodate the growing baby or will i cause the child to have some form of defect in the process?

Hi there, welome to the board!
I think that's a question you should bring up to your dr asap. They'd know best if a tummy tuck would interfere with a delevopiong baby and the uterus expanding. Good luck, check back with us and let us know how yo'ure doing... :)

Skin is extremely stretchy, tummy tuck or not. I'm relatively certain that your tummy skin will stretch enough to accomodate the baby, but I'm not a doctor. I'm sure your kid won't have a defect from your choice to have a tummy tuck a few years ago.
I would suggest consulting your doctor ASAP since you found out you were pregnant. You will need to get these questions answered by a medical practicioner as well as to start prenatal care, if you choose to carry the baby.
