alcohol and 1st month of pregnancy...

I think I'm pg. If so, conception would have occurred during the honeymoon and I am worried about the affect of alcohol on the embryo. We did a lot of partying on the honeymoon and then even during the 1.5 weeks after we came back home there were a few nights of celebratory partying. Can alcohol hurt in the first month of pregnancy? i've heard all kinds of differing opinions. what might the effects be?

I've read all kinds of mixed reviews but am hoping that the ones are true that say 'don't worry it's not a problem b/c very little of the mother's blood is used to nourish the embryo in the first month'. However, I've also heard that the impacts are unknown and that alcohol can affect development of the organs in very early pregnancy. Just think positive. I'm sure we're fine. Good luck!

my best friend also was pregnant during this time, she got pregnant in december and didnt realize it until februaury (12 weeks pregnant when she found out i think) and she partied with the best of us...we were both smokers until we found out too, so yeah, imagine how worried SHE was....
welllll, on september 11th, she gave birth to a beautiful 8 lb 1 oz 21 inches long baby boy, with no problems whatsoever...im not saying that when your pregnant to eat drink and be merry lol, but i could go on and on about ppl who continued to drink and smoke (which i think is awful) during their pregnancies and nothing was ever wrong...if youre still worried about it, talk to your doctor, and im sure she/he will put your mind to ease!!
