Am I Pregnant??? What Should I Do???
| Mon, 05-12-2008 - 12:36pm |
Hello, I am 23 and married. My husband and I recently decided to start trying to conceive. My last period was March 25th. I did not have a period in April. I am about 2 weeks late for my period (give or take a day). When I first missed my period I took a couple of HPTs and they were negative. About 4 days after my missed period, I called my OB/GYN and spoke with his specific nurse. The nurse checked with him, and said that I could possibly be ovulating late or did not ovulate in April (I'm confused - I thought you didn't ovulate if you were pregnant - but hey, what do I know right?). The nurse said to give it a few weeks and re-test or call back. It's been about a week and a half since that call. I am growing more nauseous with each day and have vomited on several different occasions ("morning sickness"???). Also, I've been experiencing some insomnia, mood swings, and fatigue (which may or may not matter). BTW - I wasn't experiencing any nausea or vomiting when I made that call to the OB/GYN office. I have taken more HPTs (different brands with "supposed" different sensitivities) all were negative. I also tried both holding the HPT in my urine stream and also by collecting urine and dipping the HPT - with first-morining urine each time. Am I pregnant??? What should I do??? The nurse seemed very nonchalant whenever I spoke with her (which kind of annoyed me). I don't want to call back so soon and bother them if the only difference now is that I am potentially experiencing "morning sickness" and still might not be pregnant. I have the feeling that if I did call all they would say is to wait and test again - which I've been doing - a lot! I love my OB/GYN and have been seeing him for a long time. I don't want him to be portrayed as a bad person for not bringing me in already or that I am scared to call back. I just don't want to over-react and seem silly, but I am so restless about this whole thing. Please Help!

Maybe you can call back and see if you get a different nurse this time?
I would call back to the doctor's and ask for a blood test.
