OK- My last af was july 18. On Aug 13 had a blood test-negative. been having symptoms, sore bbs, extreme emotional wreck, headaches. My af was supposed to start on Sat, I woke up and there was some blood on my panties. I thought I started but it only lasted a few hours and was really just spotting. Nothing since then. This afternoon I noticed some blood when I wiped and as the day progressed it increased--then it started to taper off again. No more flow now, just some blood when I wipe. I know some women bleed throughout their entire pregnancy and some who never get a positive until they are several weeks along. With my first pregnancy I had a neg. blood test followed by a positive a week later. Is anyone else having weird bleeding like this? Or does anyone know anyone who had bleeding like this and turned out to be pg? Finally, yesterday both of my leg calves hurt. Today they seemed to be better but right now my right leg from the knee down feels numb. HAs anyone heard of something like this?

Well for the bleeding this site has the most info I have found so far to explain what really is going on... : http://www.babyzone.com/features/content/display.asp?TopicID=40&ContentID=187

As far as the ache in your leg, and now the numbness...you should have that looked at, there are many things that could cause this, and i'm not sure pregnancy is one of them if it was just an ache I wouldn't be concerned, but any numbness or tingling is not a good thing. So I think you should see your doctor soon for that.

You're not alone. In fact, I think I'll change my name to frustrated mommy 2. I'm only 12 dpo with what I would call spotting. It only happens when I stand and is in small amounts. Who knows what's going on? I'm just playing the waiting game and seeing how things go.

Good luck and get me updated,

Hey Frustrated Mommy :)

This may not be what's happening to you, but it sounds very similar to what I'm going through. Yesterday I took another hpt and it was negative again. I then noticed brown spotting that later turned to a mix of brown and red. I felt TERRIBLE on Sunday and Monday.....raging headaches, dizzy, sick to my stomach. I have an appt with a new doctor next monday, the 25th. When I talked with my doctor and his nurse they were both telling me I could still be pg. But, my hubby suggested I call a family friend last night who practiced as an OB/GYN for years and now teaches at a Med Center. When I talked with him, he said it'll have to be confirmed by my doctor, but just from all my symptoms and the negative blood test he thinks I'm having an "Anovulatory Period." If I understood him right, this spotting/bleeding I'm having right now isn't really even a period. It's called Anovulatory Bleeding. He said more than likely for some reason I didn't ovulate last month and my levels of Estrogen have continued to build up and up and up.......and with no release of the ovum, I haven't had the needed Progesterone needed to make my period start. He also said that having ALL that Estrogen would give me all of these symptoms I've been having that are typical of pregnancy symptoms!!!!! I felt as if FINALLY something made sense!!!!!! He said this can happen for no reason or all or a variety of other things can be the cause.....such as the thyroid ( mine tested ok with my blood test ), the hypothalemous or more than likely a cyst on my ovaries could be stopping me from ovulating.

Again, this is a not for sure. This was just his best diagnosis without treating me. He told me to see my new doctor on Monday and tell them everything including his take on it. He also told me not to worry that it's a permanent thing. That this can happen to women for no reason. He said that women will often mistake the Anovulatory bleeding for their period and that more than likely IF this IS what I have, the new doctor will give me progesterone next week and THEN I'll have a REAL PERIOD.

Soooooooo this may not be what you have going on with you, but it could be a possible explanation. I feel tons better at least knowing this may be what's going on with me, rather than all this not knowing and worrying business! You may want to ask your doctor about this in your case.

I'll know for sure next week. Until then, I'm still following my doctor's advice and treating myself as if I could be pg. With all the dizzyness, headache and nausea yesterday combined with the bleeding, I was afraid that I could be miscarrying. But, I haven't had large volumes of blood. My symptoms are more in line with what our doctor friend described as Anovulatory Bleeding.

I'll post this as an update on the OMG thread, too. A big part of the frustration of all of this is NOT knowing! Even though I don't know for sure yet, I feel this could be it. So, the good news is that I finally got some sleep last night!
