Anyone get PG on Birth Control Pills?
| Thu, 10-30-2003 - 11:04pm |
I have been taking OTC for about 1 year and a half now and I must admit that I am not the most timely person. Some days I take it at 7pm..sometimes at 11..sometimes not til the next day. My fiance and I are not TTC at the moment but we are open to it. I was wondering if anyone has even gotten pregnant on birth control pills. My fiance and I frequently have sex with no other method of birth control aside from the pill. Last week I took my pill late and five minutes later we had sex. Could I be pregnant. Have been feeling a little more exhausted that usual, not very hungry, having shortness of breath, increased thirst, cramps and have been waking up sweating when the house is freezing. I skipped the placebos this month so I missed my period..it would normally have come today. I dont want to go out and get a test for nothing. Could I be PG? I would really appreciate some advice. Thanks.

I am also on OTC for about 2 yrs now. I dont take my pills at the same time of the day and I have missed a few pills in the first 2 weeks which are the "active pills". I called my doctor and she said yes that you can get pregnant if you dont take the pill the same time of the day and if you miss a pill but dont make up for it you can. Ive pretty much missed the first two weeks as I was on vacation and they never got packed. We are also not ttc but open to it as well. So on my advice I would wait until your period is due and then check but not to get stressed out about this. You may spot some spotting in between which could be implantation bleeding or just breakthru bleeding because the pills have been messed up. Keep your body healthy just in case though. I would say its a 50 50 chance as that is what I am going thru right now. Also some women dont realize that they are pregnant until a couple months so keep an eye on that too.
