BBT & Pregnancy Questions-

I have a question about triphasic BBTs & Pregnancy.

I went of the pill 2 months ago, I have been charting my BBT for the past month. Initially I thought I ovulated around 14 days, but then after I started using an online charting system it confirmed I actually ovulated around days 21-23. There was a significant temperature change, so I am pretty sure the online program is accurate.

Here is where my confusion comes in... they say if you are pregnant there will be a third temperature shift. Today I am at day 29 of my cycle and my temperature fell today to my coverline. If I am pregnant should I expect my temperature to rise again like it fell and rose for my ovulation?, or should my temperature just have remained high?

I feel like there is a good chance that I could be pregnant considering my husband and I had intercourse on the day I supposedly ovulated as well as 2 days before. This week (about 1 week after ovulation) I am experiencing mild cramping. I don't know what to think- and I don't know how soon I can take a pregnancy test to confirm anything.

Any advice or knowledge would be sooo helpful!

can you post your chart? it might make it easier to see the shift in temp.

Hi there, it's really hard to go by the triphasic method to determine pregnancy or not, because not all pregnanceis will show a triphasic chart and not all triphasic charts mean pregnancy. So confusing, I know! :)

But here's 2 examples of women that had triphasic charts and did end up pregnant. I'm not sure if that answers your question or not... but sometimes a visual is helpful. Sometime we can have a temperature drop (even below the coverline) and it's not a significant deal. I would say watch your temps over the next few days to see if they go up higher... and also you might be getting closer to when you can safely test. Good luck!!
