My period (or at least what I think is my period) came 2-3 days earlier than normal this month. It was heavier and lasted only 4 days, where it normally goes for 6 days. My cramps were also sharper and lasted longer. I've never been pregnant before, so I don't know if this could be signs of pregnancy, miscarriage or something else. Can you have a period if you're preganant? My breasts feel a little heavier than normal, but that's about it. Should I be concerned about being pregnant, or could it just be that almost 40 year old body is out of whack??

If you've had unprotected sex and your next period doesn't come or you have other pregnancy symptoms, definitely test. It is possible that it's related to a hormonal shift or any stress in your life (if you have some right now). There are many things that can cause your period to change. If you continue to have abnormal periods, you can talk to your doctor about having your hormones checked. Good luck.
