blood test/finding a new dr

I got my blood results back -- neg. I don't know what the numbers are. I have to wait until tuesday to get a copy of the lab. She could only tell me pos or neg over the phone. I am so very bummed!!!! I had a blood test done at the beg. of the month. My copy of the lab says less than 10. I am hoping that it has increased since then.
I guess I should probably just accept that fact that "I'm not preggo right now". I have to find a new gyno. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to tell if they are going to be a decint dr or a quack? My last Dr I only saw one time and new she wasn't a good dr.
Thanks to all

Second, Interview the new obgyn. Get a list of questions based on the problems you've had in the past. Sometimes the practice will make you pay for the consultation; other times not. (It's a good sign if they don't.) Also, make a quick unannounced visit to their practice to see how the office and nursing staff work. Don't expect to see the doctor, it probably won't happen.
I had to change insurance before my second baby, and I had found a gyno I really liked. Well, it turned out that I was very uncomfortable with the way the practice was run. I was a number, and there was little consideration for how you would like things handled. My appointments would routinely run three hours, with only a few minutes with the doctor, the rest waiting. I found the office staff pretty rude. And I would leave my appointments very depressed.
I finally resolved to find someone new, and I found an absolutely terrific family practice who did obstetrics. (This was at 20 weeks, too.) She listened to me. She acknowledged my feelings. She explained everything very thoroughly and if she could tell if I wasn't "getting it," she would reassure me and find a way to communicate it to me.
Now, because of yet another insurance change, I have to find another doctor. I had become so attached to Dr. Morris, that I'm feeling hesitant to have to go through the search process again. But I know I can do it. I've done it before. And I'm here to say, it is so worth finding that doctor you can really communicate with.
Good luck. If you don't know what questions to ask or what you are looking for in a practice, I'd suggest "The Pregnancy Book" by the Searses. It really lines things out nicely without being "scary" like some of the other pregnancy books out there.
Doctors are like shoes; they are not one size fits all. Some look good but fit horribly. Some just don't happen to be the right ones for the right person.
