It seems that since I got off birth control, my period aren't exactly 4 weeks apart. Sometimes they are closer to 5, so when I was few days late this week I didn't really panick. This morning I took a pregnancy test and it came back positive. While, I was hoping to get pregnant, I had thought it would take me longer have been on the pill for 4 yrs. Before I break the news to my husband.... what are the chances the test is wrong, or how soon can I test again?

Thanks

false positives arent as frequent as false negatives. wait a couple of days and test again. i got pregnant with DS #1 2 months after i went off the pill.

When I took a HPT and it was positive I called the Doctor's office and they told me that if I got a positive I was pregnant. If you're worried wait a few days and take another one. My bet is that you're pregnant though, I was told that a false positive is very rare by my doctor.

I'd say congratulations! False positives are pretty rare, usually they occur if you've just given birth (your body might still have some hormone in you) or if you test REALLY early in a pregnancy

oh and as long as it wasn't a confirm clearly test. There has been many people with actual false pos with that test. GL
