can tilted uterus hide baby in sono?

Hey,
I hope this isn't the wrong spot for this question...My sister has a work associate who says she is 10 weeks along..she had a vaginal sono and the tech did not see anything in the sac, so the doctor proclaimed that she had a blighted ovum. She says she has a tilted uterus and thinks maybe that may have "hidden" the pregnancy?? Has anyone ever heard of this? SHe thinks she is still pregnant (no cramping or bleeding whatsoever), and does not want to have the D&C the doctor is hurrying her to have...Also, they did not listen for a heartbeat, so it's not like they also said, "AND there's no heartbeat, so we know for sure there's no baby"...She's still getting dark + HPT's, but I guess that doesn't really help her know for sure since she would still have the hormone present. If anyone has any insight, thanks in advance for sharing..

i have a tilted uterus and they did not have any problems finding my younger son at 9 weeks with a vaginal u/s, but they did have problems finding heartbeats on both of my boys very early in pregnancy. i hope there is nothing seriously wrong with her and that it is just a fluke. did they check to make sure it wasnt an ectopic pregnancy?
