Cervical pain?

Hi all, I've never been to this board before (never had the need to)! You all seem so nice and understanding, I hope you can give me some advice in my current situation.
I normally have a very irregular period, sometimes it's three months between periods. Lately I've been having cervical pain intermittantly. More so after having intercourse It's so painful that I can feel it through my back and buttocks area. I've never felt this before so it's hard to explain.
I didn't have a period last month so I can't really say if I'm "late" or not because it's normal for me to skip periods. I'm so worried that I might be pregnant because my ex husband and I have a two year old and we just got divorced . . .we are just having a hard time with the physical seperation because we're still friends and we hang out a lot because of our son. This would be the worst timing possible for me because I just went back to school full time and am now a single mother. Any advice??

Hi there..
Welcome to the board! :) I would say that maybe since your periods are irregular, and you didn't get one last month, you're best bet would be to have a doctor do a blood test for pregnancy. It sounds like you're not really sure if you're late or not, right? A blood test can detect very early pg... only a few days after implantation.
Also, if it comes back negative, they might be able to see what else could be causing the pain.
Good luck... and
~Robin
