Can anyone provide information concerning coloring hair in the first trimester and going to amusement parks? I am 5 weeks pregnant and I don't really care about the whole hair color concern, if I can't, I can't. Just thought I might be able to during the early stages. Also, anyone know about roller coasters? I am going to an amusement park on Wednesday. Thanks!

I thought these reponses I found might help you!!

1. Many moms-to-be give their colorist a holiday, but Dr. Robert Hartman, Chief of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Lake Forest Hospital, Chicago says there is no danger coloring while pregnant. “It's an urban legend that chemically treating hair during pregnancy is unsafe,” he says. “Most of the restrictions and prohibitions for hair treatments come from years ago when harsh chemicals and peroxides were used.”

Still, pregnancy does change the texture, condition and growth cycle of your hair. To reduce the risk of renegade hormones spoiling a color, some salons won't color hair until after the first trimester. If you're concerned about chemicals penetrating the shaft, Dr. Hartman says waiting until mid-pregnancy should set your mind at ease.

2. ...on the
subject of pregnant women riding roller coasters. From my reading I
have found that most amusement parks already post signs advising
against pregnant women riding the coasters. If a woman is visibly
pregnant, chances are she won't even be allowed on the ride.

It is my opinion that until a very conclusive study has been done with
a lot of historical data to back it up, pregnant women are at best to
stay away from such rides regardless of the stage of pregnancy.

So apparently not many studies have been done on the roller coaster thing, but I think I would avoid it!! These are just some answers I have found in my reading!! Good Luck!
