Hi all-
This is my first time on this board. I am 29 yo, and married...this isn't the best timing for this sort of thing as I am halfway through an MBA, but it's not awful either as my husband is established in a good job.
DH was away for three months training in London, and I visited him for one week. My next period was (I think) a week early and a little short, but otherwise normal. For my next period, I had nausea, sore breasts, irregular b.m.'s, mild lower back pain, and some abdominal soreness that felt kind of like cramps, but not exactly. I took a test, which was negative, and had what seemed like a normal period.
However, after my period, my breast tenderness and irregular b.m.'s have not subsided. I also may be over analyzing, but since moving to Manhattan two months ago, I think I have been eating less, and definitely walking more, but my weight has not changed. Tonight, a week and a half after my last period ended, I am bleeding again, which I cannot recall ever happening.
I am wondering if it is possible that I can be pregnant, despite the 'periods' and negative test. I have not seen a doctor as my insurance is through the school and I don't think I can use it for non-emergency visits in NYC. If I am, we can handle it, though i am concerned about the effects of my alcohol and caffeine intake. I'm not a heavy drinker, but have one or two a couple nights a week....
Does anyone have any thoughts on this? If I am no pg, I am baffled as to what else could be going on...any ideas or suggestions are much appreciated!!!!
Amy

It doesnt sound like pregnancy to me since you are having periods, but that doesnt mean that it isn't possible.
Cycles have a way of changing with stress, diet, new atmosphere, traveling, changes in exercise etc...
If you recently moved that could be one factor to explain your change in your cycle, you said you changed your diet and started walking and that could throw off your cycle again. With all the changes you are pusuing at the moment your body is adjusting to this and one of the things that has to adjust is your cycle also.
As for the breast tenderness and other signs/symptoms you could be possibly suffering PMS in longer intervals or continuosly due to the changes. Most women who take on new daily activities like eating habits and exercise changes will experience a hormonol change.
***Ever hear the old cliche' that a woman can never go on vacation without getting her period. Changes in area can cause changes in cycles***
Should this keep up and you are worried, take a HPT and if it is negative talk to your doc. to confirm you are not having any other problems.
THanks for the thoughts....I took another test first thing this morning and it was also negative. Still bleeding, so I think this goes beyond "spotting" and more like an early period. Weird..this kind of thing hasn't happened since i was in high school. I have, though, had a lot of changes in the past couple of months, moving to NYC, starting new job, DH coming home after three months, etc. Maybe it's just wacky hormones.
I go back to school in a few weeks and can see the gyno on campus if things don't settle down. DH, who is a Dr., couldn't think of anything serious that I need to be worried about at this point, so I'm just going to watch and wait (and test now and then just to be sure...).
