Hey,
I just took an accuclear (Target-Inverness brand) hpt (9dpo-I know, it's early)and there was a line (faint) after the 10 minute mark...I'm figuring due to definition that it's an evap line but it is pink-ish, so I was wondering if any of you have had the experience of having an evap and then testing later and it being positive? Can early pregnancies make the second line show up after the 10 minute mark, or is it only an evaporation line? Hope my question makes sense...TIA...H

Hi,

Anything is possible - you definitely could be pg. But I have to say as far as HPT goes you may as well not look at them past the 10 minute mark. I know easier said than done, right? But the fact is they often produce a line after 10 minutes. It's like the test is breaking down a bit and some color just shows up. I would say 9 DPO is obsecenely early because if implantation occured it would be JUST and therefore you wouldn't really be producing enough HCG. I've heard of some people getting faint lines that early though so I would hold out some hope. Unfortunately TTC is a waiting game to a large extent and all you can do is wait a few days and test again. Or if you're like me - test every freaking day two or three times a day until one day a dark line pops up and surprises the hell out of you!

Good luck,

I seem to always get a faint line with Accuclear. I even tested with it Monday, got a light positive within the 10 minutes but the next day with a different brand got a negative. I then ran my extra Accuclear test under water and after the 10 minutes the faintest of faint pale pink lines showed up. I would test with First Response or another brand, I think they have very dark evap lines. I am waiting to retest in Sunday with First Resonse.
