I would say that you'd have to get a blood test to confirm. It could be possible that maybe this was the month that your period was going to return but because of the events that it now won't be. I'm not trying to get your hopes up but I would just make an appointment with the doctor to get some blood work done.

One of my friends got pregnant on the shot. She had to go into for hers every 3 months, the time between in being out of her system and waiting for her second dose, she managed to get pregnant. Of course she didn't know this, went in and had her dose and carried on. She started gaining weight and had no idea why. At this time she never had a period while on the shot. she thought that she would go into the doctor to see why she is gaining weight and so on, and badda bing badda boom! She was pregnant!!

reason #638 it's nice to use bc that still has you get a period every once in awhile. but yeah, it's very possible that you could be pregnant. it can take awhile for your period to return and to start ovulating again after any type of birth control, and like someone said, you may have just started to ovulate again this month.

if you aren't pregnant, you may want to see a doctor and see if there's another reason you haven't been having a period, since it's been awhile and you hadn't even had one, not just that you've had irregular ones. the first time i asked my doctor about going on the pill, she didn't want to put me on it unless it was going to be (at least potentially) actually for bc reasons. i was interested in it to regulate my period origionally (when i was like 17), and she said that since i was so irregular to begin with (cycles that went anywhere from about 28 days up to 90 days), it was possible that i would need to take fertility drugs for a little while after going off it to get my body to start ovulating again.

either way, you should at least TALK to a doctor about this, even if you take a home test and it shows negative. good luck!
