counting after ovulation

Okay, this is going to make me sound a little on the slow side but for counting the days past ovulation, do you count the day of ovulation as 1 or start the next day? also I'm not using any tests or charting my temperature, just took note of my cm and all, is there a way to tell which day I technically O'd on? I do believe I am pg but I've only gotten bfn's so far so either it's too early or my hcg level is too low but I don't have insurance and won't unless I am pg so I can't just go see my obgyn. I can't count from the beginning of my cycle itself because I o'd two weeks late (my last cycle started June 13th) so the number of days I am at is somewhat irrelevant. I probably have more questions on ovulation itself but I can't think of any at the moment. Thanks for any imput.

The day after you ovulate is day 1. So it would be 1 dpo (days past ovulation).
This is what I found to help you know when you are more fertile.
