Dark evap line?

My fiance and I are not "trying", we just not-not trying, if that makes sense. Anyway, I'm on a 35 day cycle and I'm expecting AF in a week. I've been feeling very tired, cramp and I've had heartburn the past 2 days (which I never had before I had to ask a nurse friend what was wrong with me) I took an EPT +/- test today and after a minute or so I only saw the - so I put it in the trash. A few hours later I go back to empty the trash and I look at it and now it's a dark +. I keep reading about evap lines but I'm confused because this was not light at all. Could I be pregnant? I know I need to test again in a few days to be sure but I was just wondering if this happened to anyone else.

The evaporation lines are very common with the blue dye tests. I think I had an evaporation line on the first test I took with this pregnancy, but when I tested a few days later, it was positive, so now I'm not sure if it was an evaporation line or not. The line didn't show up until a while later, so I'm guessing evaporation line on the first one.

When you test again, try a test with either pink dye or a digital to help avoid the confusion. Good luck!

Well, that is a confusing situation. If it was after the alloted time mentioned in the phamplet in the test box, it very well could be an evap line, however, if you threw the test away only a minute after taking it, it could also very well be positive. Most tests, to my knowledge, may take up to 3 minutes to fully develop accurate results. It could have came up + a few seconds after you threw it away. I agree with the digital or pink dye test option the pp said. I used equate brand ept and clearblue easy digital with my last pregnancy with very accurate results.

I took cvs +/- blue dye tests and had a thin dk blue line. I took a second one a few days later, same thing. It was skinnier than the test line, slightly darker so i looked up positives and they are the same width so i figured...evaps. I also got.one negative white frer and two disappearing faint positives...... So i figured bfn. And thats enough testing for the moment....... I am 19 dpo and waiting to begin clomid in march but still ttc and opk and charting. This is still shocking since its not typical to have theese symptoms in my cycles.

I took another test this morning and it was negative. So it must have just been a defect in the test or a dark evap line.

I figured the same thing. Sorry, will you be waiting and retesting if AF isnt making herself obvious? I decided to wait and keep charting till next month then order some 10miu IC from earlypregnancytests.com. I should be 28 dpo by then.
I will keep praying and charting. Im already on prenatals and abstain from alcohol etc.

I'll retest in a week if there's no AF. We're not really trying so I'm not upset. It'll happen if it suppose to.

Im just putting my trust in God. We were trying but waiting to do a clomid, hcg, progesterone cycle but still charting/opk on a natural cycle in the meantime. My dr wanted me to come in for test results before getting the script. This kinda surprised me! Ive been going through this ttc for some years but I trust it will happen soon. Theese symptoms were just really odd and confusing that i did get some results that appeared positive. Pray to join the EC soon!
