My bf and I started having sex and we are definately not ready for pregnancy. I went on the depo shot, the first time i got it i had lots of spoting. my first period after my shot was late. then things started to work themselves back out but still a little wacky. A day or so after i had finished my period My bf and i had sex and the spotting stopped. I got my second depo shot and now my period is late. I am very confused, is it becuase of the shot? Is there even a chance i could be when im on the shot and it was right after menstration anyway? I don't know if my symptoms are nerves or what, i have stomach pains and my lower back has been sore lately. no tenderness in my breasts. i took a test a couple days after i was late and it was negative, its been 8 days now. what should i do? i am not ready for this, do you think its nerves? the shot? any advice? thanks.

Hey i am new here to and i was on the shot for 2 years and it put my
periods way out of wack. you definetly should test again because tests arent ever accurate
i took a pregnancy test after test for 3 and a half months and they came back negative
everytime but get this i was 4 months along. so test again and dont work yourself up
because you will be in worse shape if you do take one day at a time.

Hello,

Its sounds like the Depo Shot. You should call your doctor about it. Maybe he can change the dose or put you on another form of birth control.

I was on the depo shot for a few years. It is very effective in preventing pregnancy, and it can definitely change your periods. I stopped having my period comletely after about two months. It is very unlikely that you are pregnant. It's probably just a side effect of the depo.
