Doctor today - what is going on?

I went to the doctor today and my test was negative. When I asked the doctor why I haven't had AF (it's a week late and I'm on BC so it comes at the exact same time every month) her response was that "these things happen" What kind of response is that? She said it could be weight loss, but I've only lost 14lbs in 3 months so I kind of doubt that. I just don't understand. When I first thought that I might be PG, I wasn't thrilled, but by the time I went to see my Dr today, I was really hoping that I was. She did tell me to take another HPT if AF still hasn't showed in a week.

Sorry this post is long. I'm just frustrated. Do you think that there is still a chance?

If the doctor did a urine test, then I think there is a better chance than if they did a blood test... blood tests are much more accurate. Good luck to you!

Thanks! They only did a urine test, so I'm hoping that there is still a chance.

im thinking either you are pg or maybe you didnt ovulate this month that could cause you not to have your period.

I had the same thing happen today. My doctor could not tell me if I was or not. Her response was it is too early, I don't know. She did not even respond until I asked her, "so I am not pregnant?" There must be something in the air.

Good Luck! I have to wait until the next time I am due for my period. She said to wait it out!

It was infrequent, but there were times when I was on the pill that I would just not have a period. Your doctor's answer was curt but apt. Things like this do just happen. When something is stopping you from ovulating, often the lining or your uterus just doesn't have anything to shed.

I would keep testing if you think there is a real chance you are pregnant (for instance if you missed some pills or are having symptoms). Otherwise, try not to worry about it. I never had it happen more than one month in a row. Though you might discuss changing pills with your health-care provider. This might solve the problem.

Good luck, and I hope everything turns out the way they are meant to.
