Does drinking too much water effect hpt?

Good morning everyone. Does drinking too much water effect hpt? I got up this morning and couldn't wait any longer, I tested, however, my test (ept) was defective. The stick wouldn't absorb all the way and stopped half way. So, I went to wal-mart to buy a first response (I wanted that one anyway, but already had an ept). So, now I'm really anxious to test but don't have to pee. If I drink something like water or juice to help me go, will it effect the test results, like dilute the hormone level?

Thanks,

Susan

Drinking too much water will affect the results, since it will most likely dilute hormone concentration in your urine. Why not just try to "wait it out," have breakfast or coffee or whatever you normally have, and then test with your 2nd morning urine. No need to chug a gallon of water!

And good luck to you - hope you get the result you're looking for!!!

I agree with last message:

Dont chug lots to make you pee.

Just store up for a couple of hours and you only need a little (count slow 5 seconds!)

FRE is supposed to be sensitive enough to test any time of the day...We tested all through the day and got +

Good luck! and can't wait to hear the good news.

Well, I tested and it was a BFN. I did drink some water and juice, but I don't know if it was enough to affect the test. AF usually comes around the 27th or 28th day of my cycle which would have been yesterday or today. I would think First Response would have detected the hormone if it was present, don't you think(considering it can detect up to three days before a period is even suppose to start)?

The last time I was pregnant I got a BFN one week post AF but I didn't use a very sensitive test. I didn't test positive until 2 weeks post AF. Could it be my hormone levels are just low and I should still hold out hope?

Am I obsessing? :)

Honey im so with you !! isent this so deppressing waiting ! Im with you by time af is due you would think we would get a BFP becuase it seems like everyone else does ! BUt we both know thats not true ! A friend of mine tested 100 times all --( LOL on the 100 but I know it felt that way to her) and she was 8 weeks pg, I have had it happen with my last pg even the doc urine was --and I was pg . A friend of mine carrying twins didnt show a ++ untill 6 to 8 weeks ! I guess we really need to wait it out 1 more week and see if af shows if not test again. I did test with a FRER this morn got a faint ++ and went and bought a fact plus ( theres a post here about it) and it was -- ! How far along would you be if pg? if I would have been it would only be like 3 weeks 4 days ! Ok not smart testing this early HUH? But who can stand waiting !

I used EPT and it worked for me....maybe you got a defective one just to make you wait....lol Anywho, the best time to do the test is first pee of the day. When your body has layed in bed all night and you have had nothing to drink. Well, at least that is what my doc says. I hope you find out soon! I know I hated waiting! ANd we are trying to get pregnant again, so I'll have to go throught that again...hopefully, anyway.
