Don't know what to think...

Well, I guess I'm here to sort of tempt fate. It seems that everytime I post, AF shows like the next day and answers my question. ha!

DH and I have not been using BC since January-ish. My sisters seem to look at their DH's and get pregnant, so didn't think it would require tons of effort on our part. I haven't temped, charted, or anything. I have irregular cycles, and the longer off BC, the weirder they seem to get. However, this time off, even though the "off" switch doesn't seem to always work (last stretch lasted almost 2 months, there are clear breaks and starts that go with a cycle length of about 31-35 days. Last cycle started July 3rd and ended around the 20th. Of course, since AF stayed so long, we BD'd a lot when it left! :-)

So, here it is, August 7th, and no AF. I've had a really stressful month and with last cycle lasting so long, I know there are lots of reasons why AF maybe hasn't visited yet this month. But with both sisters preggos, can't help but have that as an option on my mind. ;-)

I've been super hormonal the past few weeks, more tired than usual, I have so many zits it looks like chicken pox, feverish, crampy, and I keep having that gushing sensation that leaves me running to the bathroom to no avail. I've been having very slight twinges of a really light red/pink discharge since Saturday. But typically, I have a lot more and by day 1 or 2 it's full fledged AF. I took an HPT on Monday morning and it was BFN and used an OPK strip tonight and there wasn't even a hint at a second line.

I'm just praying for AF to come already and stop toying with me or that I'll get my BFP. It's driving me insane...as many of you can relate!! Since I have no clue when I may have O'd, I don't know how many DPO I'd be. But surely if my symptoms were pregnancy related, surely I would get an accurate result, don't ya think?? After this next cycle starts, I think I'll start charting so maybe I won't have to go through this next month! ;-)

Oh Sweetie... I'm so sorry to hear about all this trouble. I certainly hope it's because you are pregnant. Seeing as you are late and you've tried a HPT and still nothing. I think you should try another test today to make sure or call your doctor maybe they'll be able to do a blood test to know for sure. I'm sending out a ton of baby dust to you. Please keep us posted!!!

Hi...

I too suffer from irregular cycles. As a matter of fact, when I stopped taking BCP the first time in 2004, it took about two months to get AF, and my cycles have been crazy ever since. I was diagnosed in 2005 with PCOS. Anyhoo, back to you. Honestly, with you saying "the longer off BCP the weirder they get". That sounds a lot like my cycles right before I was diagnosed with PCOS. If your last AF ended July 20, I wouldn't think you'd be experiencing any real pregnancy symptoms right now, although you may have ovulated. Being so irregular, it's really hard to tell. Have you presented this to your doctor? I know when I was in high school, I had a cycle that lasted almost a month. And it was really heavy. That was when I was first put on BCP. I've always had problematic cycles and I got my first AF at age 9. However, all that being said, the spotting may be a good sign. I'd give it a few more days and test again. Although for women with irregular cycles they recommend waiting the length of your longest cycle and then testing. I know it's a long wait, but may be for the best. I don't want to get you down, and I hope you get your BFP soon. Good luck and keep us posted!

I took another HPT tonight (Dollar Tree brand) just for kicks. I checked it at about 8-9 minutes and there was the faintest of faint lines. Not sure if it was an evap line or not, so I'll try again tomorrow. Trying not to get my hopes up and let my mind run yet...ha ha, you all know how that goes! ;-)

I already had an appt scheduled with a new Dr. on Monday, so if AF is still no show I'll definitely have them check.

OK, now I really need help!!! I took another test this a.m. and at about 6 minutes, I noticed the faintest of faint lines again. I wasn't sitting staring at the thing, so I don't know if it started to show sooner. But I'm still worried they're just evap lines and I'm getting excited about nothing. My husband thinks I'm crazy b/c he glances at the things and says he doesn't see it. ;-) I know I need to wait a couple of days and try again...easier said than done! You better believe I'll be POAS every morning and night until I know for sure! ha!! I'm feeling some weird cramps down there this morning, so AF may be coming. Who knows.

I also want to know how people ever get clear pictures of these suckers!!! My camera is acting up, too, so I haven't been able to get a good shot to post or try to invert.

What do you think??

I'm not a pro, as I haven't ever seen the BFP, but I guess I'd suggest trying one of the digital tests to see for sure. Have you tried a different brand of test or are you using the same brand each time? I know how badly we try to read things sometimes, and while I hope it's a BFP for you, it sometimes isn't. Whichever it is, please keep us posted.

Well, the results are in. WE'RE PREGNANT!!!!!!!!!!!!! :-)

I had one digital test left from a previous month, so I wanted to save it until I thought there'd be enough to detect. Thought maybe if my lines on the Dollar Store brand were so faint, that maybe I was just really early. I bought a different brand of POAS this morning on my way to work and took it as soon as I got there, and there was definitely a pink line, but it didn't show until about 6 minutes. So I was still left second guessing the result. I was trying really hard to wait until the morning to use the digital so I could use FMU, but I caved. Guess I didn't need to wait though, because we now have our definitive "YES" and we're SOOOO excited!!!!

Like I said earlier, this means that both of my sisters and I are now all pregnant at the same time...my older sister and I are only like a week apart. Our parents are flipping out! :-) God sure does have a sense of humor!

Thanks for your support/responses! I've really appreciated having this little chat forum thing the past 8 months! Wishing you all the best of luck!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
